Me pondering whether you're a guy or girl, and the massive amount of metal around your neck:

So today the roof of the building we work in (since 1925) started to leak due to a rainstorm. I was the first to notice it was pouring over out fuseboxes downstairs, and risked life and limp nailing tarps up there on a ladder to keep them from shorting out or worse yet, electricuting someone (if they didnt slip first) I jumped up and did it without being asked, so it would have been my own fault if I hurt myself.
A couple of hours ago it got worse on our second floor, which from the floor to the roof is 20' not counting the drop-off down to the warehouse floor at a certain point (which I was directly above eventually) which would have one falling two stories onto a concrete floor.
So I hear panic, I grab a huge tarp from or warehouse, run upstairs, and see where it is leaking from at the old old rickety ladder under the trouble spot. It is pouring out of that point and everyone is standing around too nervous to climb up there, and I didn't have anyone to come home to, so again I volunteered like a dummy.
They only had a huge hammer, so I grabbed that and a handful of 4" nails and grabbed a corner of the huge tarp and started up. The forth rung broke out from under me, something someone below knew was an issue because they went to go up it and it started to crack but didn't think to tell me before. The water was cold and was flowing so hard I had to sort spit every couple of seconds like you do in the shower, it was like a cold shower some 20+ feet in the air on a bad ladder. I hammered as best I could, what with hanging on for dear life and all. I was certain I was done for, I am not being dramatic but the way things started to go once I was up there I didn't think I'd be coming back down on my own.
Anyway here is the pic, which doesn't show the ladder or how high up I was.

WHAAA!! You be careful, Mr! Good job though, taking responsibility and everything, and I'm glad you weren't hurt. 0.0

Thanks. I was re-reading what I wrote and I think I was still sort of in a daze after that. Wanna know how lame I am? I called the girl I love from up there, because I thought there was a chance that ladder would break under my fat ass (my pants were baggy today, but they make me look fat(ter) in that pic) so I held on for dear life, made the call so I could hear her voice, closed the phone and threw it down to a fellow employee, then spun around to finish the job. I am debating posting the pic someone took once I finally got down....naw I look nastier than usual. ^_^
