It's great. Hilarity ensues at every moment. There's something magical about getting attacked by a formless spawn and pissing it off with a flashlight, causing your character to go insane.

I GMed (Keepered, I guess) this once. Good times, indeed. One of the players managed to get killed roughly five minutes into the game.
Gotta get the teacher at my school I met to play this with me. He plays DnD, this should appeal to him, considering he has a "vote for Cthulhu for 2008 - why settle for a lesser evil" poster in his class.
I highly recommend the "Call Of Cthulu: Dark Corners Of The Earth" video game actually. It did a good job bringing one of Lovecrafts stories to life and definitely has the atmosphere that one would expect as well as the macabre weirdness.
I'm currently in the midst of "Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth" if it isn't what you're already talking about. Great game, but the guy you play as really has to stop talking to himself.
I could seriously crowbar the hell out of the Esoteric Order of Dagon all freakin day.
