Cool Iron Maiden or Metallica?

Personally I prefer Iron Maiden
1. I think they provide better music, more melody than Metallica
2. They are English...like me
3. They've been around longer than Metallica.

Iron Maiden FTW. Metallica bores me to death. And their later work makes me vomit.

A lot of Iron Maiden's later work sucks too.

Metallica, in their prime, which I would say was Kill 'Em All - Master of Puppets were superior to Iron Maiden, the high point of their career being their magnum opus, Ride The Lightning. Iron Maiden just got a little too over-exuberant with their happy 'Look at my ball-squeezing high notes' Metal.

**bows head**
amen!

The only half decent song by iron maiden is fear of the dark, but even that's sketchy.... So metallica all the way....

although...

Is Switchblade Symphony an option?? no? Oh well =]

I prefer Paul D'Ianno with Iron Maiden than Bruce Dickinson.

His voice was punkier and less cheesy.

I never really got into Metallica, however Enter Sandman is a good song.

Meh. It's okay. It's the song that was in the transitional period from greatness to Load.

I think I need to listen to Metallica more, but Iron Maiden will still be my favourite of the two.

We had to design a DVD cover for a film of our creation in DT Graphics. I chose that title. It was a political thriller. It had Tom Waits in it.

Iron Maiden all the way. Metallica is in my opinion a piece of shit band. Plus, Bruce Dickinson is a licensed pilot, so take that Lars. Plus, Metallica sold out and became all crappy after Master of Puppets.

JCC, I'd rather have "ball-squeezing" happymetal than St. Anger any day.

I'd rather have syphilis than St Anger, and don't for a second think that I don't like Iron Maiden, I love them, I just think that Metallica from Kill 'Em All - The Black Album > Iron Maiden.

Hehe.

Fair enough. I can listen to the era of Metallica you spoke of and do think they're talented - they're just not my cup of tea. Don't worry, I wasn't questioning your love for the Maiden.

Slayer is better than both, even though I own 7 Iron Maiden albums. Slayer kicks Metallica any day.

Man, Slayer's live show is so ridiculously awesome. I don't even like Slayer, and that show was probably my favorite. I'm definitely gonna have to go with Maiden FTW.

I guess I'd have to say IRON MAIDEN, but only because by the time METALLICA and SLAYER came out I wasn't into that kind of music anymore. I was actually more partial to BLUE OYSTER CULT, THE SCORPIONS, and JUDAS PRIEST.

I'm not a fan of either of them, really.
But I would have to say Metallice because of their song "And Justice For All," it has a shibby beginning.
