I know that it is shameful to sacrifice certain things to be able to get a job, but suck it up. It's the real world and that's just how it goes. Unless you are incredibly lucky and can get a well paying job that allows for extreme style.

Also, it depends on the city you live in.
Find an artsy city and find work. There ARE people out there that wont be manipulated by the way you look.

yeah...doing hairdressing and make-up etc is always good because most of the time they want you to look a little bit "funky".

I wanted to work in the store my grandma was the manager of, last summer...but she wouldn't let me because she said I don't fit the dress code...apparently, the customers would find blue hair "unpleasant and scary"...

Yeps! She's got some great articles. She's also got some pictures up and is very pretty! She's pretty extravagant with her outfits as well as her hair, but microsoft doesn't care too much...
