You know nothing about magic, and you know nothing about Pagans. Not even all Pagans practice magic! Do the world a favor, and take the time to learn about things you have no idea about.
By the way, the next time you hang lights on your Christmas tree, REMEMBER YOUR CELEBRATING A PAGAN TRADITION!!!

The timing of it is close to the spring equinox ( Ostara ) . Many of the symbols used by christians at easter are also pagan, the egg and rabbit were originally the sacred symbols of the goddess, the egg ( representing new life ) and the Hare ( representing the goddess, fertility and resurrection in Anglo Saxon mythology ).
Basically they used the same timing of the festivals in order for people to convert more easily. It also "embraced" the customs of the land and day and so the Christian conversion was easier than, say, a Crusade.
