The nature of change

I am currently writing a paper about the nature of change and it got me to thinking (dangerous, I know). I was just wondering if any of you had any interesting thoughts on the matter

I have drifted to thinking that the idea of a world with out change and the idea of a world in constant flux are both too extreme and that all things have the ability to change under the proper conditions but are unable to change without those conditions

But the world is in constant flux. It never stops changing. Many people in life struggle to keep their local environment from changing so as to have some sense of continuity, but it's all for naught.

I was sitting with my boyfriend the other day, looking out the window and thought of how old folks look at the world today and thinking about how much has changed since they were in their 20's. Take computers for example. Years ago they were from roof to floor and used for something like a calculation. Now-er days we can get the same technology with a shit load more in something the size of your hand.

And what about diseases?!
Since when did pet animals get diseases like liver cancer instead of just dieing of old age?!

If you want to talk about change I would talk to an old person.
Old folk from the war. So much has changed since their time.
I mean think about it. Would you want to read about war stories in a book or from an actual person from the war? Only problem is that with the change of time and age there aren't many of them left. Soon there will be no more ppl alive to tell us straight from the mouth what them days were like.
Ethier they die or they loose their memory.
But it's interesting to hear how old ppl can remember stuff from when they were young but not remember last week. O_o

I know what you mean, I have had some great conversations with my Nana, she is 94 and has seen quite a lot of interesting stuff

I wasn't really looking for anything specific, I was just in a philosophical kind of mood

It's all based on evolution, i guess without a change people will go insane .

And i do also believe in what i call a dead end, that would take us back from the first step yet again.

I tried that a few times, but my grandpa starts talking about antique cars (if he does more than grunt) and my grandma starts talking about how lazy the natives are.

I was talking to my future landlady though, who is originally from the Caribbean, and she said that she didn't have refrigeration when she was a kid. They ate mostly vegetables, and meat happened on the weekends.
She said it was a really good life because you got out (and not just to work) every day.

Simply put, our world is always in flux. The only thing that is continuous and stable is whatever dictates our reality around us, providing a blueprint for things, if you will. Because of this, we have a foundation for everything we perceive but we can always expand upon it and it can always change, even to the most minute degree.

Change is something that is always needed, especially in personal growth. I think that anyone willing can change themselves.
