Children, play in the fields. Mind the animals; they can only speak with actions.

Everybody is right. The Internet is, and yet is not real life. We come here to connect with people, and we also come here for entertainment. If the forum is 80% engaging discussion and 20% mean sarcasm/humor a la Duckman, that is nicely entertaining. If it's the other way around, that's just irritating.

Bete, nice to "see" you too. Also, same to Corpsey.
I think I'm content with what's been said since my last post. I never expected or planned to convert everyone.

Aw, that makes me happy.
I kind of had the impression that the opposite was true.

Even I missed you (not that most people know who I am). We've gotten into an argument or two before. Though, who can't say that about you Ophelia? HAHA well welcome back my dear, welcome back.

What do you mean "lessen my article" and where was it even stated I HAD an article? Some people can be opposed to ED without having an article. We're not all apathetic fuckwits. And those "articles" should never exist to begin with. All they do is spread hate and document bitching about people who's only crime was having poor social skills(which the average EDitor is also guilty of).

"Butching it up"? "Snotty Moping"? Buh? What is this ******-speak? And I thought "Bawww" was bad enough.
Sounds like you've been pretty heavily brainwashed about why ED exists, though. Good job at being a retard.

More like looking at a formerly dead thread, seeing your revivial and hearing banjos begin to play as someone in a horrid drawl needles out, in a feint of rotgut, how the South will rise again.
Nothing sadder than someone who doesn't get that the fighting is over and those left standing neither know nor care about their war stories; and those those who did once care about the fighting, do not now care about you.

Why are you expecting otherwise? Stop with the hope and optimism that somehow good will wins out.

I don't even know Rosie. I just find the blatant aggression out of nowhere seems a bit insane. Is she eccentric and unique or something?

If she was eccentric or unique, she'd have no reason to be pissy. My guess is that she is wearing khakis with a spiky blond haircut, a canvas tote, Crocs, sadly waiting for someone to save her from her lack of primary employment and secpndary education.

I love how the babygoths come in and think they know everything. ^^
I agree with what Ophelia and Gothicus are saying. What you say on the internet can be just as destructive as what you might say in real life.

and somehow a lengthier tenure makes right?
what, aside from join date, makes you think, for one moment, that i am actually new here and not a relic from the days of Eyes and Al?

I just think that more posts are evidence of being here longer (obviously), and that somebody who just joined cannot come in and judge people's opinions because they don't know them as well.
Why have you a new account anyway? Were you banned?

No, the "Joined on" date is indicative of how long someone has been here, "post count" is indicative of post count. Just because someone has posted a fuckton, does not mean they have been here long.
I never said I had a new account. I never said I was here since the forum was formed, I merely asked why you make bullshit assumptions. I could be admin, or I could have just gone to the very first pages of the forum and read old threads; I could simply be fucking with you; I could be your dad.
You never know with people, and never assume you do.

Just for that reason? Would you prefer an idiot who DID post an introduction?

I don't know if I posted an introduction or not. It didn't matter too much.

As for the topic itself, I don't think the internet is much like real life. On the internet you're completely anonymous, unless you chose not to be by posting your personal information. Not to mention that on the internet, you can be a fat bald 40-year-old man one day and an anorexic 16-year-old girl the next.
Plus the internet has spellcheck.

You could do that. I've done it before. Even then, not really going wild on becoming a whole different person. However, even if I did I'd have to draw off something, maybe my favorite TV shows and that's kind of exposing my true self.

Off the top of my head, here are some threads you might address on your intrepid anti-waste-of-time crusade before you get to this one.
"Hey"
"Sometimes I wish I was me"
"Let's worship our Dear Lord Duckman"
"The Official Lesbian Pirates Thread"
"Goth Flag"
"Goth Slang"
The original post, while not Aristotlean or anything, is a more well-thought out and provocative contention than anything I've seen either of the individuals who attacked it contribute to this forum, ever.

The internet is home to some of the greatest writers. I'd love them more if they wrote a book about their own embellishments.
I've had this discussion with a friend, we know more about each other than two people should, and we've never met. I don't see how you can say that a non-romantic relationship on the internet is impossible.

My main problem with the internet is when I'm chatting on msn and the best reaction I get to a marvelously constructed joke is "lol".
Real life wins every time for me. I'm boring on the internet, and I fucking hate that.
