| Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Disco Hospital!!!
If there was anything less likely to be a functional working band it would have been DISCO HOSPITAL. Yet in a dimly lit lockout rehearsal room in downtown Los Angeles, 5 people from across the globe managed to bash their heads together so much that a band was formed.
Drummer Tony Havoc (Scarlet’s Remains) had a bitter pill to swallow when S.R. hit the wall. Bass player Darlin’ Grave (All Gone Dead) had the exact same fate over 6,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean and had come together with former S.R. and A.G.D. members Marzia Rangel (also of the Deadfly Ensemble) and Steven James (also of Chaos U.K.) in an attempt to produce the most exciting record any of them had ever made.
With an incredible stroke of luck, Steven met Lauren at his place of work where she declared to be a bandless vocalist. One rehearsal later, the line-up was clearly complete.
The forthcoming full length album is close to completion and is due to be released world-wide in summer 2008!!!
We are extremely busy recording and here it is a preview of what we have been up to lately.

Reminds me of a Spooky Surf Punk Gloria Mundi.
This is better than most goth bands out there right now. Not fair, this sounds more deathrock, really.
BTW, don't be stranger if you can help it, DG.

Thanks so much, that is only the demo version, we are currently mixing all the tracks we have recorded so far as well as recording new tracks for the upcoming album which we hope to have out by the summer.
We have a producer/engineer recording us at a studio :-)

Yep. I find AGD to be really entertaining. It's quite a fun album to listen to.
BTW, she needs no introduction, people. Much like how Mouseblood probably needed no introduction.

Very cool. My band records on a four track in my basement. I'm a fellow bassist as well. I like your playing style. What setup do you play? (bass, amps ext) When we do get a demo out, want a copy? We're The Bleeding Ovaries, we're a D-Beat/Hardcore punk/Noisecore band. We sound like Disclose/Discharge and Confuse all smashed together.

That's too bad. Good luck on your new project. I'm sure it'll be just as awesome.

Absolutely!!! I would be more than happy to have your demo :-)
I play a 4-string Schecter Bass (Blasko, Diamond Series) on an Ampeg Cab and Gallien Krueger head. It does sound mean however I'm considering to have my pick ups replaced to get an even more "growly" sound ;-) (I'm a big fan of Big Black here)
And thanks so much once again for the input! Very much appreciated :-) I look forward to hearing your demo!

Very cool. When we do get a demo going, I'll get you a copy. Be warned, we don't have a drummer yet so we use a drum machine I'm currently playing a Yamaha RBX-270 through a really shitty 15 watt combo amp. But I'm getting a Fender P-Bass and a Ampeg Combo (or Warwick) with a Boss Distortion Pedal.

Oh cool! I have a few pedals myself, most of them are boss apart from a Digitech one which I'm quite fond of and a zoom one that is pretty crappy although reliable.
No worries about not having a drummer, they are a rare specie to come along but you guys will find one I'm sure!
My second bass was a Yamaha and it was very comfortable :-) I'm too small myself to even try for a Fender :-P
I think Ampeg amps are just aces!

Thanks Kontan. You're the first. Thanks madame, hopefull we can, it's not that hard to play D-Beat!! I got the Yamaha for free from Wes Ward. He's my cousin in law and has played bass since he was 12. His band was called Concussion and they came out with a album in the early 90's. It's really awesome, they reformed not to long ago. He inspired me to play bass. I like the sound of Fender although I might get a Epiphone Thunderbird. Ampeg is very cool. Speaking of which, I'm off to learn this Sham 69 tab. Goodnight everybody, and thanks Miss Grave. Cheers!

Ooh... Just noticed this thread. As I said in the AGD one I'm really looking forward to hearing the upcoming album. I'll look into getting Club 1334 involved in its promotion down under!

It's better than I thought it would be. I miss Scarlet's Remains though. Fucking huge improvement on Tragic Black, and (so far) seems better than All Gone Dead.

Thanks so much and more to come soon!
None of the members of Disco Hospital had anything to do with Tragic Black anyways ;-)

I know. Do you have a tour planned at all? Cause I would certainly come and see you live.

We are definitely planning to tour, so far we want to get the album finished and start booking tours.
We have a couple of shows booked for June and July, I'll post more news as they come :-)

Come to the uk It seems to be a deathrock-free zone most of the time. Although I believe Theatre of Ice are coming here (right Mouseblood?) sometime soon.
