Ouija Board Stories.
Anyone have any Ouija board experiences that they'd like to share? Do they work for you, or do you think it's all rediculous? I own one that was given to me by a family friend after a bizarre and frightful experience he had with it in 1970something. Nothing too prominant has ever happened, but I continue use of it every time and again. So please, share your stories.

According to one of my friends, she claims that she conjured Kurt Cobain, and that her lights went out, and as soon as that happened, a picture she had of Kurt on her wall, fell down on top of her. -_^
I don't really buy into Ouija boards too much.

Though my family doesn't "need" the aid of the board, I myself have been mixed up in an occurence from the use. Of course, my cousins and I were messing with one and we asked a spirit to show us a sign it was listening and after that, the sterio came on by itself at full volume.

I watched some film when I was young where some woman was doing a seance with a wine glass, the only part I remember is when she takes her hand off the glass and it shattered. So I made my own Ouija board.
I once painted numbers and letter on a round mirror and laid it on the floor.
And another time I tried calling the spirits in a park with my friends. We used to be really scared that the glass might shatter if we took our hands off the glass.
Of course nothing ever happened.
(p.s Going to that psychic this Saturday *eeek*)

I do wonder about Ouija boards. Mostly, I wonder how a sheet of cardboard produced for the Milton Bradley corporation has the power to conjure anything, much less spirits from the great beyond. If it could, wouldn't that mean that, theoretically, you can use anything to contact spirits?

That's exactly true.
Well, according to many pagans.

I have one. and tried it a couple times, but nothing happened. Perhaps I was expecting too much for something to happen the first time around or maybe I didn't wait long enough. Or maybe it's a crock of sh*t. I don't know. If it does work, I'm not about to try it here in my own house. I like it very much and am very comfortable here. The last thing I need is to be inviting trouble into my happy little sanctuary.
Anybody got reccomendations on where might be a good place to try it?

Tried it once. Nothing happened.
There's a few sites out there that sell wooden ones.

Agreed. I don't see how something that comes with a "Glow in the dark" feature and can be found next to "Candyland" st Toys R' Us can really conjour spirits. The one time I bought one, my mom told me it probably wouldn't work, and that she got one from a New Age store when she was younger. She still made me get rid of it because she claims they're the "Devil's tool"...and my mother really isn't all that religious.

It's not that it's from Milton Bradley - that doesn't matter. You can make your own board or get one from a psychic and probably have the same results. It's that it allows spirits to communicate easily with all those letters - and if you're using one, no doubt they know you're looking to talk to them.
There's many different takes on spirits. I guess there's good and bad ones, but I've heard again and again that once you open the door of communication, it can be bitch to close. I choose not to bother myself with that.
I still find the supernatural very intriguing though...

The way I see it, they're dead, they more than likely want a rest and will probably be supremely pissed off, at being hauled back for really pointless questions. Leave the dead to BE dead. If they want contact they'll find a way to make it. Otherwise leave them well alone.

You know how they say bad things will happen if you burn a Ouija board? It's true. I ended up married.

Holy shit! Good thing I didn't burn mine. What about if you put it through the shredder?

My friend had one of those glow-in-the-dark ones from Milton Bradley or Parker Brothers or something of the sort. We played with it in her closet one night. The plachette did move, but I seriously believe that it was her. It said that it was going to kill us. I'm extremely clairsentious and could not feel anything other than the usual guides and stuff. I believe that they can work, it just depends on the people working the board.

Never tried one. I will admit I'm a big skeptic on a lot of things. A Ouija board is one of them.

My theory is as such, regarding the boards:
There are three possibilities when trying to use a board, in my opinion. I am either:
1. Contacting demons/evil spirits
2. Contacting good spirits
3. Contacting the spirits of dead people, who I would expect to be either evil or generally just as clueless as I am about life.
Therefore, it is mathematically not worthwhile to use a board.

A Friend and I made a board of our own...We were actually carrying on a conversation with it. My friend's mom walked in and said it was all bullshit and sparks flew out of the board and we were pinned to opposite walls. When she left the room it quit. And a guy friend of mine tried to conjour something he couldn't control. He picked up my friend nicnamed "Chubby Love" (for obvious reasons) and proceeded to choke him. This wouldn't have been a problem if the one doing the choking wasn't 1/3 of the other guy's size. He woke up with horizontal slashes across his chest and stomache. So we burried both boards.

Back in college, a curious friend & I tried one out.
Not much happened. The thingy you hold on to that "spiritually" slides around the board was giving randomly spelled answers. By that I mean we'd get words that were more clumps of letters than a slightly mispelled word.
As much as I believe in spirits, etc. & been at places where ghosts should be spilling out from all directions, I haven't had any contact with those from beyond.

There are lots of stories about people going bat shite ill in the head from using them. To the point of having to be institutionalized. I'm just hoping to avoid that. Even some respected paranormal investigators and mediums advise to stay away from them.
