Of those, the tremolo pedal sounds the most interesting really. That and the delay really. Still downloading that track. Fuck!

The Danelectro tremolo is real good. It's basically a standard tremolo, nothing new, but it's damn cheap. The DD400 can give you some real glitchy sounds if you fiddle with the knobs just right.

They're ALL cheap! Like I said, they're standard circuits, and Danelectro make a killing off people who just want cheap effects. There's nothing wrong with them, it's just that they're cheap and look like ass so people assume they're crap. Of course, you can circuit bend the shit out of a lot of the Dan pedals.

Hmm what does circuit bending allow you to do in terms of altering the sound etc etc?

Cheers man. And could you give me a couple of tips on how I could mess with my Danelectro delay pedal?

EDIT: I'm loving Danced to Death. It's brilliant. Completely different to anything I normally listen to. You have rather a lot of talent. Although your new name suggests you know this already :P

Yeah, I Am pretty damn Great.

circuit bending is damn simple. You want to get yrself a stereo splitter cable, which is basically a cable with two male ends that meet to form a female plug. You plug both male ends into the input and output of the pedal, which will set it self oscillating. BE CAREFUL WITH A DELAY PEDAL!! It'll give a REALLY loud high pitched tone which could blow yr speakers / amp, so keep the volume low.

So once you've plugged everything in, just open up the pedal, lick your finger and poke the circuit. You won't get zapped or whatever, so don't worry. More often than not you'll find a point that makes the sound change, so get piece of wire, find the bit that made the noise, and remember where it is. This is the point of origin, and usually it'll be the focus point for every other bend. Then just go around the circuit board with the other end of the wire finding more points.

Too many people wire each bend up independently, which is stupid. Just solder one wire to the point of origin and one to every other bend. Solder a wire to a leg of every switch you have to activate the bends, and solder the the wires coming from the bend points to the other legs of the the switches, then just solder the free wire from the first leg to the point of origin wire. It'll let you switch the bends on and off. You can also wire a feedback switch, which will set the pedal into self oscillating mode without a stereo splitter. Just wire up the input and output jacks like you did with the bends. Easy as that!

This is my bent stereo phaser. 19 bends in total, but there's a whole load more that I didn't wire up because I was running out of room. It makes stuff sound like this. I only used a few of the bends, though, and tweaked the knobs a little.

People who don't like current hip-hop have likely never listened to Blackalicious.

That said, why try to make a competition between hip-hop and goth?

Hey Duckman, do you like Dalek? That's your kind of Hip-Hop methinks, Industrial synth like Planet Rock taken to the extreme layered over an intimidating mastery of flow. It's so bassy it's unreal.

Hip hop doesnt have intellect? Obviusly you have not been exposed to anything.

Now you could say Hip-ho isnt your style. You could sya you dont like how it sounds. W/e. But to say it doesnt have intellect as a massive generalization (sp?) is just fucking stupid. Please refrain from making yourself look like a fuck head.

Hip Hop is fantastic and I find that the people who disagree are the people who've only encountered G-Unit videos on MTV. I honestly couldn't care less if you make stupid comments about Hip Hop, you're missing out on one of the most fantastic genres of music there is.

Also, many hip hop artists are very intelligent.

"I'm kinda more into brutal, violent music, whatever it is called, hip hop, rock, whatever, I like dark and chaotic music."

Anyone that I have met who has seriously described music as being "brutal", is usually an ass.

But anyway, the new Atmosphere video for "Should Known" has a sorta goth chick in it and the dude sings about "goth nailpolish".

Did someone mention it in here? I'm trying to remember where I learned this jewel of counter-cultural history. As I can't remember where I learned it, sadly I cannot give you a creditable source, but I am dead certain it is factual:
Early hip hop artists called themselves punks. And not just punks as in the word 'delinquent'. They were actually part of the emerging punk subculture; back when punk used to mean anti-establishment - as Crass puts it "a way of saying no when we'd always say yep. But now that peole, even so-called 'alternative people' care more about the style than the substance, where punk is a way to describe teen shit from MTV, hardcore is about bleeding throats rather than left-wing politics, and hip-hop is about mindless materialism with a repetitive beat, it was inevitable that people will find nothing in common between hip-hop and alternative rock, and stupidly have loyal exclusivity to one corpse or the other.

I never said it had no intellect. I was making a comparison. I realise that hip hop obviously does appeal to some. I can also see why it would appeal. There are some hip hop songs I can honestly say I enjoy. But my point was the two just arn't comparable. I appologise if my earlier post did not make this clear.

Hip Hop's not dead, Hip Hop is brewing again. The underground artists are releasing and releasing and every bit of output is better than the one that came before it. 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, these people are to Hip Hop what Avril Lavigne is to Punk and H.I.M. are to Goth.

Goth Rock and Hip Hop are most certainly comparable, manequin. You can't run around with your opinions naming certain things null and void just because you don't like them, that's asinine. I prefer Hip Hop to Goth music. Infinitely more, I'd say.

That was totally awesome from a technique standpoint. Amazing. Plus the guitar was great. Makes me wish I had more than Fruity Loops to make stuff with.
