Are Mindless Self Indulgence Goth or... Emo? *shudder*
well It's just i've heard a bit about them being goth but they seem pretty emo. I mean, the bassist is married to Gerad Way... They call themselves Goth and I know that some people in here like them, just wondering..

They don't call themselves goth and they're neither.

Damn, I'm glad they annoy me now.
Well, they're still not goth. They call themselves something like jungle punk, but they're not that punk either.
They're 'punky', but certainly not punk.

Are you sure?
I don't think I've ever heard themselves call themselves goth.
The Birthday Massacre, who I believe is on tour with MSI, might, but I've never heard MSI say that.
Then again, I don't follow them religiously, so fuck if I know.

i think they class themselves as and i quote " a big fuckin.g mix up like they chucked punk and goth and in your face in a blender and they scooped out all the messy red stuff and there we were, now someone get me some jellababys"
or at least thats what i think i heard at their concert, myself i just think that they have strongs elements from goth, metal, punk and general all overtheplaceness but havnt got an exact catagory they fit into.hell who needs a damn catagory for them anyway they still sound pretty amazing.

When I saw them Jimmy Urine also insulted everyone in the audience, put the microphone down his underwear and practically stripped.
I wouldn't take anything he says seriously.
Why would the bassists spouse being Gerard Way have ANYTHING to do with MSI being emo?
They're neither.

Yeah, MSI aren't Goth or Emo, I've never seen them claim to be Goth either. I quite like them.

I get to see them again in August!
I don't think I've ever heard them even mention goth.
Apart from while insulting the audience.

My friend went to see them and nearly got trampled on during 'Shut Me Up'. Never really had that down as a moshpit kind of song, but eh, whatever, haha.

You will get rhetoric such as that from someone who listens primarily to metal.

MSI is classified as Electronic Punk according to Wikipedia. They are oh so slightly punk influenced, with them usually not fitting in a catagory, and with much of their music being tongue-in-cheek. They're currently touring with The Birthday Massacre, a Synth Rock band, and London After Midnight, a band commonly known as Gothic Rock, though they do not like the term for they find it very artistically limiting. Their newest album had a lot of industrial influence.
Yeah...

I think they're touring with Combichrist. They were here some time ago, but London After Midnight doesn't come until July.

I've seen them. There were pits, kind of. But they were full of weedy kids that mostly bounced off you.

They're lame is what they are. They remind me way too much of Kid Rock.

Pahaha.
I got trampled just before Fa.ggot came on.
So I missed that song while trying to fix my brace in the toilet.
The pit was rather empty and filled with hip hop fans.
So when I went down their was no one to fall against.
And I got trod on.

Well my friends just saw those three bands I mentioned above performing together in Los Vegas about three or four days ago.
