Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

Yeah, I guess they kind of are. I mean that with music like that, I really prefer the music does all the talking. You can't deny that anything by 65daysofstatic would be better with vocals. The sparing use of samples is perfect for what they do.

Mir, I'll try, but no promises.

G-------------------------------------------------------------------7

Opening piano lick. If it is wrong, I'm just going to base a song around it and claim it as mine! haha.

That's almost exactly what I got. Mine is all on the B string :

12-8-12-8-12-7-12-7-10-5-10-5-12-8-12-8

Just trying to work out the bit in the background now, but it's real quiet.

JCC, you ain't missing out on much.

G|----------------------9----9----11---11---

G--------------------------------------------------------------------9

The note on the G string was supposed to be a 9 which is the same as a 5 on the B. 'twas a typo! If your tab is accurate and I've no doubt that it is, I'm still off by two notes, yo! I really need to work on my ear. =(

I also need some good headphones.

You're damn close, though. I have issues transcribing between instruments. Like, from bass to cello or violin or whatever I'm fine, and piano to flute I'm OK, but can't say I've ever tried piano to guitar or vice-versa. Give it a shot and see how it sounds to you, I might be off a little bit. Play the 10 / 9 together, and the 12 / 11 together. It's dodgy to hold, but it sounds about right. If you listen close you can hear him hit two keys at those parts.

The last bit is simple.

E5 E5 - E5 E5 E5 - E5 E5 - E5 (couple of times)

E5 E5 - E5 E5 E5 - E5 E5 - C5

---

Yes, he definitely hits two notes but I found it easier transcribing just the (what I thought was the) root note.

Casiotone For The Painfully Alone ~ Answering Machine Music.

iheardhe'saspacealien,hiswholeplanetwaskilledoffby spacepirates,andwhilehewasfightingthem,hecrashedon earth://www.mediafire.com/?pjfmicixmzz

This is a sort of indie electronic music. The interesting thing about it is that it was all played down the phone and recorded on an answering machine. One of my favourite albums to listen to while going to sleep.

My turn for reccomendations:

Amebix: No Sanctuary

A collection of their early 80's Spiderleg Recordings, really great dirgy crust from the founders of the genre.

I'm going to disagree, No Sanctuary is better, I like the style more, more dirgy, but that's just my opinion.

Here's some music for everyone. When this Daniel Ash CD originally came out it quickly turned up at every pawn shop and used record shop in town. Everyone else must have sold off their copies. Was I the only person who liked it?

All right guys, I've got Mr Bungle's album The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny. I'm not even really sure how to describe the music, you just have to hear it.

I've been thinking about getting their discography. I'm a huge Mike Patton fan. Thanks, yo!

I prefer some other Patton projects, and I prefer later Bungle like Disco Volante, but still worthy of leg-humping.
