*jiggle* ugh...too warm. But a trip to the chicken farm will be fun, and I will no doubt have to shield mother form the terrible onslaught of the mighty mighty goose.

It's not a place that farms chickens for food or anything. Just a normal working farm and livery stables that also has a large garden centre ( I bought 3 alpine plants ^_^ ) . But because there are about 100 free roaming chickens and geese, we just call it the chicken farm. It doesn't smell or anything We get our eggs from there as well. I won't eat them if they're from a supermarket or shop. I've seen their chickens and they really are free range, just running about all over the place, round the parked cars, in all the stables ect.
I wish I could drive and had botany experience or something. I'd LOVE to work there. There was hardly anyone there today, so my mother and I just wandered through all the little paths and in all the massive poly tunnels full of plants. Really peaceful. And wild birds just fly in and out of all the tunnels and buildings and there are butterflies and bees and bugs everywhere. The woman who runs it feeds the robins by hand in the winter too. Just heavenly.

I went to the Penrith Show on saturday, which had a chicken competition thing.
They were nice.
I also saw a stunt bikeing thingy, a spitfire fly past, show jumping, and lots of farm animals and the CAKE STALL!!!!!!!!!!
Twas fun.

Holy Fucking Shit!
I've been landed on by a bloody kestrel!
I've just come in from a walk over the fields.
I took my usual route, and turned into the trees for a breather by a tree I usually stop at. I'd been standing there about 5 mins when I heard a rustle/flap and a bird of prey landed on a branch right over my head! Anyway it went from branch to branch and kept getting closer, and I figured it must be a lost pet as a wild bird surely wouldn't come that close. So I put my arm up and it flew to me and landed on my arm after a minute or two, and then tried to eat my ring! It also allowed me to gently stroke it's back a little. It flew off onto a branch after a few minutes and came to me a few more times when I put my arm up, but when it realised I hadn't got any food it stopped coming and flew up onto a pylon nearby.
The bird had no ring on it's leg, wasn't wearing any of those leather leg things ( Jesse's? or Jessies or something I think they're called ) and was missing a claw ( healed ) I've been on google images and I'm 99% certain from the pictures it was a Female Kestrel. She seemed in good health, flew perfectly well and was very alert. Her tameness suggests to me that she was someone's pet that has either escaped or been let loose to fend for herself
I didn't try to actually catch her, as I have no idea how to go about such a thing with a bird of prey, and didn't want to hurt her or stress her. I have a cockatiel and a budgie who I can handle bodily, but I know a bird of prey, even a tame one wouldn't tolerate such a thing lightly, and I like having fingers.
I feel horrible for leaving her there, but I have no experience with catching birds of prey and I'm not sure what to do about it, she's an absolutely beautiful bird and it wrings my heart to think she might not survive too long. If she has never had to feed herself or hunt of her own accord, she might die
I've joined a UK bird forum just now and posted in their bird of prey section if there's anyone in my area on there and have they lost a kestrel. I hope they can help me .

No. She didn't dig them in, and kestrels aren't huge anyway.
I wish I'd had something to throw over her and catch her, but it's so hot that I wasn't wearing a jacket or anything.
I'm going to go back tomorrow with some meat and a towel. I've had a few replies on the bird forum I joined, and they said she must have been hungry to come to a total stranger like that. If I can get her to come to me again I'm going to try and catch her if I can and take her to a falconry centre.
They said also that because she had no ring, she is more than likely an illegally bred or obtained pet. It makes me so bloody angry to think that some bastard may have let her loose thinking she'd be able to fend for herself I know they have strong instincts, but the fact that she came to me and landed on me looking for food suggests to me that she probably doesn't know how to hunt or feed herself properly

I saw two ferrets try to kill each other today (or at least roughouse); one kept trying to go to sleep at first, then the other started biting the first one. They were roughousing aggressively...until they both fell asleep.

At my work, we have "Tech Gear" pencil cases for sale, and the description in the system is "Tear Gear."
That makes me laugh.

I'm pleased.
I get my room back and I drew up some designs for a painting.
My friend has also invited me round to her house in the week to see her new pet kittens.

have two hamsters and one wheel for them to run on,this has not been a problem as they are regularly let out in their little hamster balls and there is plenty of space/tubes for them to run around in their cage. For some unknown reason tonight they have decided that they both want to run on the wheel..at the same time...in opposite directions, they aren't fighting or pushing each other off, they are just running opposite directions until they both fall off then climb back on and try again. I cannot begin to describe how adorable this is

There's a man on the television who claims that his suggestion of a new name will bring fortune to those who follow his advice.
I was told once a while ago that having initials form the beginning of the alphabet means that I won't do well in life.
I wonder how many people really live by stuff like this.

Friday is the most important day in my life...
I'll get my grades, which upon them i must decide where and what i want to study... I already got 86.4% average on the first semester, hope i can raise it up to 90%... Both are low for a girl who all her life got 97% average and higher...
But... ... ...
Anyway... Fingers crossed...
Wish me luck!
