I guess this isn't really an upgrade, as a question of why we are not allowed to edit/delete our own posts after 5 min without permission?? Is there really a need for that? Is it possible to allow posters to have control at least over the editing of their own posts, if not the power to delete them? I just don't really understand why this is necessary.

It's necessary because it's bloody annoying to read a thread where someone have erased their posts later on, leaving huge gaps etc, and on the same level it's annoying with a longer limit than 5 minutes because the chance that someone change their post (usually to cover up a blatant mistake which another user reminds them about) while you reply on it is pretty high during peak hours. Makes the quotes all wrong.

While I'm at it, I'm still requesting a "todays posts" at the top menu while logged in. Not that bloody hard to do.

@ Methadrine: I guess so. I was mainly just wondering why. Thank you for answering.

I would like to see the Banner Exchange corrected, although the concept of a Baner Exchange is good, too.

There is a 'New Posts' link in the top navigation. Can you explain how what you are requesting is different and/or more valuable?

Certainly. The "New post" link is useful when one log in to see what threads have been updated, but if one accidentally close the page, or just idle too long logged in, it clears itself and shows a "no new post" message. The only way to get a good overlook at all the threads posted the whole day in every part of the forum is to log out and then click "todays post". Otherwise one has to manually go into each of the main categories and check if any new posts have been made.

Since the "members list" and "calender" is blocked for regular users you could replace one of those with "todays post" if the idea gets considered.

Hmm.. there was one more thing that was positive about this but I can't for my life remember it so I hope this was a sufficient explanation.

I see. Ok, we'll look into changing it. We're working on some adjustments.

Thanks Ophie. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. Dear Gothic.net. The top menu reads "Baner Exchange." That should read, "Banner Exchange", unless, of course it's a Freudian slip.

Dear G.net:

I would like to put in a request for a religious thread and also for a 'bump' thread. The Religious thread would be for religious discussion of all kinds, and the 'bump' thread would simply be for folks who want to upgrade their status by posting several times.

I believe that this latter would be useful for the newbies who come here, and would also save some aggravation for members who have been here a long time.

Thank you for your consideration.

The way to finding a thread is by using the search function.
What? You want her to tell you "General section, seventh page, third to last thread" ?
Stop trying to pick a fucking fight with Ophelia.

For realsies.
Even when I'm just answering your question you try to either turn it into me antagonizing you or you just flat out act rude to me.

Sorry about that. Most of the time when I post on Gnet, I'm already in a bad mood because I'm at work. I think I expected a link instead of being directed to the search function. [Silly, I know.]

My apologies. I'll try to be more pleasant [though I really can't make any guarantees..]

This way already exists, it's called social ostracism and not feeding the trolls. It's worked for human societies for a few thousand years, and chances are it will work just as well on the internet without the necessity of some sort of goth police.
