Glad I didn't give in to the pressure to go along and see that one, then. I would have hated my first time in a theater in 2 years to have ended in bitter disappointment. Blergh...

I just saw Batman (Tim Burton) on TV - apart from the sucky Norwegian subtitles, it was really cool (and I usually hate superhero movies!); the only thing that annoyed me was the obviousness of the film tricks and use of models and animation in certain scenes. But apart from that - great entertainment. Yay!

I watched The Interpreter (Nicole Kidman, Sean Penn) a couple of nights ago and I thought it was pretty good.
Also, my brother went to see Hancock tonight, and he said it was shite too.

Eh...personally, from what I know, the people I've known who say that are usually the ones who expect too much from it. But it's fine, I mean we're all entitled to our own opinions and tastes.
Anyways, last film I watched was 'Twelve Monkeys'.

I just bought the original Japanese "Ring" and "Ring 2" a few days ago. I must say, I definitely enjoy the Japanese Ring 2 storyline a bit more than the hollywood version.
Now all I need to do is get my hands on "Ring 0: Birthday", and I'm all set!

Big Trouble In Little China !!!.
While kung fu warriors and otherworldly spirits battle over the fate of two women, Russell's swaggering idiot manages to knock himself out or underestimate the forces he's dealing with. Jack Burton, a tough-talking, wisecracking truck driver whose hum-drum life on the road takes a sudden supernatural tailspin when his best friend's fiancee is kidnapped. Speeding to the rescue, Jack finds himself deep beneath San Francisco's Chinatown, in a murky, creature-filled world ruled by Lo Pan, a 2000-year-old magician who mercilessly presides over an empire of spirits. Dodging demons and facing baffling terrors, Jack battles his way through Lo Pan's dark domain in a full-throttle, action-riddled ride to rescue the girl. IMDB
Excellent !!!.

I expected very little of it, I just have an uncontrollable hatred towards stupidity, and that movie was jam packed with it.

You'll never go in the water again!
Jaws (1975, Directed by Steven Spielberg)
In the beautiful quaint beach resort of Amity Island, something hideous, something so deliciously evil has vanquished the tranquility and shattered the peace. First, it violently took the life of a young girl, leaving her mangled remains rotting on the beach, her echoed screams cursing the night skies. Next, it moved its attention to the children, ripping and tearing as blood turned the calm waters red. Then, just when they thought it was safe to go back in the water, it struck again, mercilessly rampaging in the estuary and attacking the piers where the fisherman unknowingly sat waiting for a catch. Now, something must be done, before it returns to feed. With the Amity tourist board and town Mayor Larry Vaugn determined to keep the beaches open for the Summer Season, its up to Police Chief Brody, marine biologist Matt Hooper and colorful fisherman Quint to hunt down the 200 Pound White Death and put an end to the bloodshed. They are going to need a bigger boat. IMDB
This film is one of my all time favourites, an all time classic, one Steven Spielbergs masterpieces !!!.

No, no, I agree with what Wormboy said, and I expected a bit more from that movie. It was just that bad.

Shadowboxer
I'll admit, I only bought it because I had heard Stephen Dorff has a full frontal nude scene in it, lol! It was actually pretty good...a strange film though, and actually a bit disturbing.

Prince Caspian, mum wanted to see it.
The acting was even worse than it was in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

I watched an Italian film called 'I'm Not Scared'. I'm not sure where in Italy it was set, but it looked absoluetly stunning. The story was also amazing. When a young boy finds another boy held hostage, he begins to see that adults aren't who they seem they are.

Batman.
OMG that was really good. Heath Ledger played a REALLY good Joker. It's going to be hard to replace him. His line "Why so serious?" was creepy to be honest with you. But yeah it was really good.

I watched Ringu, Slam Dance and Toy Soldiers tonight (my head needed a break).
Ringu (japanese original of "The Ring") really disappointed me. I wasn't frightened at all. But there were a few touching moments like when they um, dg out the body. I quite liked the way they did that scene.
Slam Dance was pure brainless entertaining of the who- dunnit/ wasn't- me variety. Okay, but easily forgotten.
Toy Soldiers I really enjoyed. At the end of the movie I realised I'd completely forgotten about my food and drink that I'd brought at the beginning of the movie; I was that fascinated bby it. High energy and fascinating plot (although somewhat translucent at some points, and the fact that the guy who played the mafia boss father dude also played the nice father dude in "Dirty Dancing" made it hard for me to adjust to it, but oh well).

This movie with Nichole Kidman called The Invasion.
I found it typically dull and boring, enough said.
