Deathrock ballads that deserve "the lighter"
What say you? What are some goth or deathrock ballads that deserve the lighter?
The only ones I can think of off hand is "Arms Of Cicero" by SexGang Children and "Crowds" by Bauhaus.
Anyone else have any?

Fuck you, I wanted to say Arms of Cicero.
Crowds, though, I don't agree as much.
Do they have to be deathrock? Because I would say Vet the Insane if it's all gothic rock.

Last Chants for The Slow Dance and All We Ever Wanted (Was Everything) are the real ballads as far as I'm concerned.
With that said:
SATB-The Last Beat of My Heart
All About Eve-D For Desire
Gitane Demone-Tales of Innocence
The Great Pumpkin-Marlene Dietrich's Favorite Poem
Virgin Prunes-Heaven/Love is Danger (Live)
The Glove-Mouth to Mouth
And Also the Trees-Lady D'arbanville
The Merry Thoughts-Goddess
Fahrenheit 451-Flowers Melt Away
The Meteors-Death Dance
The Stranglers-Strange Little Girl
Strawberry Switchblade-Beautiful End
For shits and giggles, you can include the Venture Bros. Christmas songs such as Dr. Mrs. The Monarch and The Monarch singing Fairytale of New York and The Monarch, 21 and 24 singing Hard Candy Christmas.

I really am fond of Sex Gang Children's Shattered room ( although it isn't a love song ) . It has a ballad like quality.

I forgot, Song and Legend or Les Amants d'Jour as well as the covers for Trust in Me and Strange Fruit.
Better throw in Cornwall Stone by Dalis Car just to be sure.

Yes, Shattered Room was very ballad like. At least, it was lighter worthy.

Bauhaus isn't deathrock; they don't suck, or have songs about zombies.
I'd definitely go with Christian Death's "The Drowning". Hell, a lot of stuff from Catastrophe Ballet is lighter-worthy.

I'd have to say "This Glass House" from that album is even more so than "The Drowning"
Also from Christian Death, "Lament (Over the Shadows)"

Hmm I guess The Wrong House - Frank the Baptist is kinda ballady. Also, I'd definitely deem Deep in the Woods - The Birthday Party as lighter-worthy, but I don't know about the ballad part.
