Microcosm Publishing

I thought many of you will enjoy the site as much as I do.

http://www.microcosmpublishing.com/

Microcosm Publishing is an independent publisher that promotes independent and DIY magazines.
They also sell many other products that range from just alternative to fully subversive.

Granted, they are making profits out of this, and buying the shirt that says Smash Capitalism is ironic if not hypocritical, but they are far from simply profiting on dissent.
The money from sales does provide a living for a few people in the publisher, but it is only so that it doesn't go under, so that they can dedicate their time to their project.
If anyone's curious, the shirts are made in America, and only range from eigth to twelve bucks.
Their book and zine section, however is the awesome part, with very great and cheap books. For example, a 300 page book on DIY ideas is ten bucks, and a book I'm buying on composting and bioremediation is $4.

Wow. That place rocks. Reminds me of several years ago when I used to write for my friend's zine (Subnormal). I always thought the internet had killed the zine scene with all those free and easy to use personal web providers like Geocities, Fortune City, Angelfire, et al. Seeing all the crazy covers makes me want to get involved again.

I recently also found this zine distro service that looks cool.

Nice find, I wasn't expecting it to have that many books. I think I'll be getting a few of them.

Like the book the Mr. Ed quoted. DIY birth control...?
