Now for an internet experiment....
http://www.orwell.ru/library/novels/.../english/e_htc
Can you see this link. If you can, say so. I'm forbidden for some reason while I used to be able to see it.
So yeah. I'm just curious.

I can't see it either
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /library/novels/Homage_to_Catalonia/english/e_htc on this server.
I even tried stepping up each directory to the main URL and got that message every time.

I was never sure what that meant as forbidden. Is the site still up and people aren't allowed to see it? What gives?

It's probably a Chmod thing. The owner has set the file permissions in such a way that you are not allowed to see it, and will be unable to do so unless you are either the owner or some other usergroup that does have the permission to view the content. Gods, I feel like such a geek for knowing this stuff. :P

Lovely. Geek knowledge in girls is a turn-on.
Meth: make love.
Minyaliel: No!

(Anyway, she's right. Someone sloppy has set the root directory of the webserver with the wrong permissions, making the website content inaccessible. Very unprofessional.)

It's back up. I can only assume it was down for maintenance. But now you have TWO sites with Homage to Catalonia, so there's a backup if we lose one of them again.

That's not what I thought was strange :P. I thought it was strange how they fixed it a day after Kontan mentioned it. It was really good timing.
EDIT: Delkaetre, it didn't even occur to me that the site could be under maintenance.
