Teachers like that should be fired, they are there to share knowledge and inspire and enlighten !!!.
The number of times people are put off various subjects they are learning because the teacher cant do their job properly !!!.

I love biology because i had a wonderful teacher who answered all of my curious questions no matter how annoying i can be...
I hate physics though... It was in my 12th grade that i knew that the thing measured in Volts (don't know what's it called in english) is what actually makes an electrical current running

I guess having a fantastic teacher like that inspired you to take your studies further in the sciences ?
I had a brilliant Art teacher at school, who gave me a lot of encouragement as he saw something different in my work and said how imaginative it was. Later at college I had this awesome Music lecturer who could bring out the best in people and taught me my first scale (Melodic minor, which has a middle eastern sound to it) and opened up my musical horizons by showing us the importance of melody and harmony and how a good piece of music should work as if it is telling a story by adding feeling, emotion and texture to a composition !!!.
