My elbows are both scabbed (one much more so than the other) and it is driving me nuts because it stings to bend them quickly and it is quit easy to forget that I can't bend my arms at a normal speed. My back and shoulders are still sore from both tubing and attempting to learn how to water ski (didn't manage to get up before the rain started though). Oh well the fun was worth it.

That isn't a good reason to hit you. I mean, falling isn't a reason to hit you. But let's assume she just thought you were boob grabbing, then depending on what she's like; she could accept it since she's your girlfriend, or shout at you. Not hit you. If you'd hit her, you'd get arrested for assault. That's no different.

Hm... my G/Fs cat did something like that, tore big holes in her shirt, and did a number on her bra... so she just took off her shirt and bra, and put on a new one. I earned a slap by complaining about the short "strip tease". Couple days ago, lolz, but funny.

The slap could have been a playful one, rather than a belligerent beat-down. Certain girls do, for whatever reason, flirt through physical aggression.

I don't feel we've been provided with enough information on that incident to conclude that Duane here is embroiled in an abusive relationship. For instance, with what sort of book was he hit? A hardbound volume comprising every Sherlock Holmes story every penned? A paperback Gossip Girl novella?

Simple way to evaluate the situation. The slap and the book smack, were they both with force and aggression or light and playful? If she clopped ya on the head with a soft book kinda softly then it's not much abuse. If she gave you a good whackin' though, you might want to think carefully about your relationship.
