Surely they would be able to at least point at a Picasso painting if it's showing among others? Or is that just hopeful stupidity to even think it? I'm mean, I'm not really very knowledgeable about many artists, but I would at least know a Picasso painting if I saw it.

Depends on what he's up agaisnt. If we take one of his cubist paintings against lets say Van Gogh, yeah they'd be able to tell. Agaisnt Braque's cubism or any other cubist painting? I'd guess they'd be scratching their heads. The only other thing I think is recognizably Picasso to the layman is The Old Guitarist.

And on second thought that would only because The Old Guitarist was the only Picasso at the poster fair! I forgot about that.

Its fine to draw and copy for practice, but you shouldn't post the art up and profit from it!

I've had a few of my drawings published in a school art magazine (oh, the prestige), and I later found two ripped off versions in a girl's notebook while I was copying her notes.

Not cool.

Yes, some of those were sold in her art books (one of my friends owns the art of Amy Brown I and II and I've had the misfortune of looking through) and if I remember correctly were previously up for sale on her site.

Somehow I doubt that Froud or his friends frequent Gaia Online ^_^ Plus I couldn't find a site that actually mentions it.

She probably doesn't plagarize everything, but its still sad to see people blantantly copying like that. Its fine for practice, but not to claim as your own and make money off of it.

Froud does have an official site (http://www.worldoffroud.com/), and I'm sure that at least one person shot him an e-mail in the last two years.

I'm pretty sure that Froud does know, and no, she doesn't plagiarize all of her works. I know that stuff was on Gaia, that's where I finally found them (I originally saw them on deviant.art not but a couple of months ago).
What pisses me off the most is that some of my friends practically worship Brown but if you were to mention Froud they would give you a completely blank look, and that most of the people that love her don't know anything but her and Nene Thomas.

And I know Todd Goldman is far worse.
