Che Guevara.

1. Don't buy his fucking shirts. YOU'RE BUYING INTO THE MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR MERCHANDISING OF A COMMUNIST. FOR FUCK'S SAKE. YOU MIGHT AS WELL BECOME A MEMBER OF THE BLACK PANTHERS AND THEN SAY YOU BELIEVE IN WHITE SUPREMACY.

2. If you're stupidly wearing one of his shirts; DON'T BE FUCKING WALKING OUT OF MCDONALDS WITH HIS FACE EMBLAZONED ON YOUR CHEST, YOU STUPID FUCK.

3. Che was a racist pig, so if that represents your false liberalism bullshit, go ahead.

This is inspired by the waves of people I see with Che shirts and seeing one of them walking out of fucking McDonalds.

Ah, people with Che shirts are annoying. Once, I was chatting to this guy wearing one and I asked him, "So, you like Che huh?" and he said, "Oh, he's the guy from that band you like isn't he?". Idiot.

Actually, I'll prove wrong your first point.
I never had a Che shirt before because of that. But now I got one.
My mother bought it for me when she was in southern Mexico, which is special because it means she has already accepted and maybe even embraced my beliefs if she remembered me and got me two communist shirts.
But that's not what contradicts your point, of course; I'm just saying that because it makes the shirt special.
Here's the kicker:
She knew well enough not to buy it just in any store. She specifically bought it from a young Marxist troupe in a rural mercado, whose profits go into stopping the gentrification that's going on in their town, which would destroy the market and force most of the farmers and artisans into working in manufacturing firms.

Then of course, there's the chance that a guy screenprinted the shirt himself.

On an Anti-Flag concert there was also this guy wearing a Che Shirt. He's friend with several crimethinkers and was the only one that was in the concert to do something political rather than be mere spectators in a show.

Don't immediately hate those who wear Che shirts. I learned that much about a year ago. Give them the benefit of the doubt.

You have almost all rights to hate those who wear it and, as you said, go to McDonalds. But beware, there could also be a chance taht's the only thing they can afford, in which case you're simply blaming the victims.

I guess you're right about the shirt got for you, but the chances of that being the case are pretty slim. What really gets me is that some people who wear them are in complete opposition to what he stood for. It would be like a republican walking around with the (A) symbol on their shirt.

I know this guy that wears a Che Guevara shirt, but I doubt he even has a coherent idea of who Che Guevara is. Heh.

Hey Jillian, my mother bought me one too! No shit! And the dear woman used to be a Republican.

Here is her justification: regardless of the mass produced irony, she embraces the idea that at least he has become known to the people on some level, that although there is a large range in people who wear them in terms of their depth of knowledge of who he was and what he fought and died for, that at least he has come to the forefront of the collective mind, and thus many people who would have known nothing about him at all, may now learn a little about the people's struggle against military dictatorships and other corrupt governments who use violence against their own people to maintain power, and about the redistribution of wealth.

I have to agree with her.

Nobody knows who Guevara is, the man has become a face without a name or background.

Agreed JCC. What's even more interesting is a lot of the mass produced shirts were probably sewn by 13 year old kids in third world countries for 2 cents an hour.

This is how most clothing companies produce their stuff.
