no one sits next to me, doesn't matter if I dress goth or not. You shouldn't judge people, either

Ah, yeah. I usually try not to sit next to people either. XD I don't know, I'm not comfortable sitting next to anyone I'm not familiar with, even if they dress like me, or look like they have the same style. It's okay if there's no other seats.
But I get made fun of sometimes, and other times people would compliment me. It doesn't really matter to me. Diversity makes the world interesting. I think it's funny when someone thinks my eye color is naturally red or white, though.

Surprisingly, I don't get much crap about the way I dress, more the way I act. Like how I always carry around a parasol in summer, and tend to phase out when people are speaking to me. Usually it's adults who are the worst. I love giving sarcastic responses to their jibes, like if someone asked me "Why do you wear so much black?" I would reply, "Duh! I'm a colour blind nun!"
Has anyone ever called you Morticia? They have to me, and I know they mean it offensively, but I always think of it as a compliment. I mean, If they're reffering to Morticia from The Addams Family, then how can it be an insult? Albeit a fictional character, she was a lovely woman.

Sort of, I have been mistaken for Emo by Chavs and rednecks before "why does y'all cut yer self?" Is a phrase I have heard too much. The worst part is, I'm usually wearing plain black pants (well I might have a patch or 2 on them), a t-shirt with a metal band on it (mostly Iron Maiden and Megadeth shirts) and maybe a studded/spiked wrisband.

Just act civil and talk to anyone who tries and "mocks" you.
You'll discover that they're actually quite interested in what you have to say.

heh, me too. I always phase out after a certain point in a conversation.
I did get called a dark angel at work by a customer the other night. He was trying to irritate me, but I took it as a compliment.

Generally when the chavs call me Emo I ignore them, but the persistent ones? I tell them to fuck off.

My school is horrific, people are mean to anyone who looks different to their preppy way of dressing. I do'nt judge them but they single me out. But I refuse to look the same as everyone else. They are scared of people with the guts to be different.

You know, it's funny my school is the exact opposite, everyone wants to be different, but they all end up looking and acting the same.
Let me explain how they typically dress: BFMV t-shirt, a fringe thats not-quite-emo, black pants and chuck taylors.
I still end up an outcast because they've all labeled me "Goth" so that automatically makes me a wannabe vampire.

I don't even know why people think vampires have anything to do with being a gothic. I hate Ann Rice.

Hehe , my father does that sometimes and I feel it's also the best compliment .
As for random people on the street , I've only rarely had problems besides the odds looks , even with spectacular outfit .
At work I don't wear even eyeliner , so It's imposible to get in troubles there.

My bf's always commenting especially about my tattoos, then today offered to pay for my next one as my birthday present, and sit in the studio with me while its done. My parents though still hate how i look, my friends love it and my closest friend dressed like me for a ngiht out and couldnt believe the bad reaction she got or that it doesnt bother me. If you insist on looking different to others, you have to expect a reaction, good or bad

A lot of enjoyable conversations have been started by my appearance. As long as you don't act immediately offended and know what you look like you'll find that a lot of the people who 'make fun' of how you look are actually drawn to your fashion sense and wish they had the confidence to express themselves in the way you do.
Confidence is infectious. If you get offended by attention, you show lack of confidence, a typical stereotype of counterculture and tend to enforce the misunderstanding.
Be yourself, looking the way you want and you'll find yourself being inherently interesting to a secretively bored and jaded world.

^ very true that. Alot of people can't find a definitive style that suits them. A few of the girls from the church I attend often comment on my style that is 'so me' and the creativity that shows in the way I choose my clothes. So yes, although I may look really different, not everyone frowns upon it.
I was passing by a country town today & stopped for lunch. Even though it is the largest inland town in the country, I got this odd feeling they thought I was an alien or something. I actually felt concious that I was being stared at. And I had already 'toned-down' my outfit today so it's not full on urban goth or whatever. Maybe the fact that I'm asian and dresses like this is lesser seen around the predominantly white town.
to reverse things, I might add, I'd get bored living in an area where people don't put creativity into wearing clothes. There's nothing interesting to look at.

Whenever people look at me like I'm a freak, I just yell out something random, like "I ride the rainbow!!!" and they all back away slowly...

That's quite amusing actually. I have a polish friend that likes to yell "I like sex with animals!!" in crowded streets just for the reactions. Once someone yelled "I like sex with vegetables!" back.

In school people often pick on my friends, they are all a little goth, but no one ever has the courage to pick on me. I'm not sure why, I don't dress anyway in particular... I'm just big, over-powering, and scary, naturally.
