I love Hanns Heinz Ewers

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and would like to introduce myself. I love the gothic horror of Hanns Heinz Ewers so much that when I couldn't find any more English translations to read I began to translate my own!

Short stories I've translated include:

Edgar Allan Poe
The Lost Monkey
How Eleven Chinese Devoured Their Bride
The Eleven Thousand Virgins and the Four Holy Three Kings
Anthropoovaropartus
My Burial
My Mother the Witch
The Crucified Minstral

I'm also working on the Novels:

Vampire
Alraune
Fundvogel


For those that have never read Hanns Heinz Ewers this is a nice introduction to his work. I welcome thoughts and discussions on any of Ewers stories. Alraune is his most famous work of course and was made into at least two movies in the days of black and white movies.

The Guy Endors English translation was censored. Chapter two of my own translation is quite different that his.

I look forward to meeting new people and making some good friends.
