Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Problaby the most un-gothy is George Locus. Patsy Cline is considered the mother of rock. I suggest someone does their homework.

I like to dbble in Japanese music, such as Gackt and Moi dix mois. It's kinda dark (some of it) but not goth

Are you kidding me?! Moi Dix Mois uses a friggin' SYNTHED HARPSICHORD!! That's as gothic as you possibly can get. And Gackt is ridiculously good-looking. Not to mention a great singer. And a decent actor. He doesn't NEED to be gothic.

True, but the question was about non-gothic music that people listen to. Japan does not have the gothic history like Europe does; they borrowed it and changed it to fit their ideals and ideas of gothic. Ironically, now people are borrowing the Japanese verion of goth and copying it. Besides, the opinion of what is 'goth' or not varies between people.

MGMT, MCR, Gackt, Malice Mizer (I think that's right), Attack Attack Attack, Wingzar!, NoFX, Crass, Against Me!...lots of other bands that aren't considered very goth. Who the hell cares, anyway.

Damn, where do I start.
Generic sugar-high anime music as well as its dance remixes
Placebo (My favorite band..they're alternative)
Random female singers including Nanne Grönvall, Meg & Dia, Enya, Utada Hikaru, etc
Sigur Ros
Buena Vista Social Club
SOAD
Random shit from Nico Nico Douga
I can keep going with this, but I'll stop.
