ok so umm well my username(obviously) is nyneve but my names Elizabeth (feel free to call me either but no elizabeth nicknames) i found this sight...well not positive how i have a (what some might call unhealthy) obsesion with black (clothes, makeup,etc) and darker creepy stuff i'm not on the computer all the time so yeah and my internet is painfully slow so i take a while to respond i also adore the band evanescenc (

) so i think thats all you need to know ok then i think i'll like it here

Welcome. Ummm, you haven't really explored the boards here at gnet have you? I can tell by your comments. I'm not going to say you will hate it here, but if all you think we need to know is that you like black and Evanscence then yes you will hate it here and just because its its a goth forum doesn't mean all we care about is black and Evanscence. In fact, a lot of people here don't like Evanscence. So you can tell us other stuff about yourself.

ok well truthfully i just couldn't think of anything else to say about myself like ok heres something i forgot i adore singing its practically my life but my parents are still working on the private lesson part and well yeah not very goth i'd guess also i have this weird thing where one second i'm hyper happy then next i'm screaming or depressed so thats other stuff and yeah

then i also like the singer david archuleta i'm guessing thats kind of dorky? yeah well whatever hes a good singer deal and umm...i enjoy ice skating i think marylin mansons music is very repetitive in the cords one of my favorite movies ever is pirates of the carribean three (even though my favorite character got stabbed wich kinda makes me insane yeah whatever i already knew that my friends make it a point to tell me this on a regular basis)

Look... if you really want to learn about goth rock and its related genres of punk, post-punk, and deathrock, you've come to the right place.

Being that you're new to the genre, I can tell you that Evenescence is not goth. In fact, if you thought they were, then more than likely, every band you listen to that looks like they're all dressed in black isn't goth either.

You know about music for the most part it seems, so I would suggest you check out Siousxie And The Banshees and compare the work of that band to Evenessence and then I think you'll understand why Evenessence isn't goth.

yeah, but i'm fine with it, its not like i didn't know, and anyway most of my friends are pretty insane(there usually the ones telling me i'm insane so ha)
