Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL.

T. Rex

I fuckin' love T. Rex. His music may not be progressive; in fact, it's kind of formulaic. Marc Bolan's simple, bare-bones approach to rock has left me addicted ever since I discovered the band through Bauhaus' list of influences. Electric Warrior, The Slider, Tanx, Dandy in the Underworld... are all flawless. I don't think there's a single song in his discography that I don't like.

Any T. Rex fans here? What are you favorite albums/songs and how did you discover him? Discuss.

I was under the impression that it was a band.

Draconysius, do you own the Born to Boogie DVD? I love the "tea party" scene and of course, him goofing off with Ringo.

I know. But he referred to T. Rex as a "He" before mentioning singer/guitarist Marc Bolan.

Malice - Did you buy it for the dinosaur reference? :P
I probably would have. I loved dinosaurs when I was a kid (and I think many others did too)

One of my favorite songs of all time is T.Rex's "Cosmic Dancer."

No, but I've seen that in a documentary a few times. Definitely need to get it. I'm downloading Marc's TV series at the moment.

Possibley...
Kind of like getting Adam & The Ants because of that William Hartnell Dr. Who episode.

I think I actually got it because my parents played it a lot.
My parents are such amazing anarcho punks.
Haha
Same reason I got the Adam & The Ants one I believe.
