I agree with Ophelia, it sounds like your just giving yourself excuses for not trying hard enough.

@ Tam Li Hua
There are many kinds of minimisers available for ladies with ridiculously large chests. Some of my friends and associates make use of these devices when transing as boys or when going running. Large breasts are not an excuse.
Asthma is likewise not an excuse. Again, I refer to my friends. There are ways around asthma- better breathing exercises, avoiding environments likely to exacerbate it, and more.
No matter what excuses you make, they can't hold up when it's just your own refusal to do anything that's really limiting you.
The lovely T is a fellow who is on crutches as often as not due to problems with pretty much all of his joints. He can match me dance for dance when we're at clubs, despite his bones being misshappen and his being required to bear most of his weight on his arms when he dances. If he can manage, you can too.
Anyway, my own rant.
My housemates are unclean, and I am sick of buying all the kitchen roll and toilet roll, sick of wiping down the counter tops after them. I am not great with aggression, and end up just commenting "I wish I knew how the counter gets like this, it's always such a mess when I come down in the morning to make my sandwiches" and hoping they take the hint.
My job is killing me, but I don't have enough savings to quit it and just coast till a new one comes along. I'm constantly tidying the CV, but until I have a new job secured I can't leave this one. I don't want to depend on my friends for shelter again, I did that too much last year.
I fear that the meal I'm organising for my birthday is going to end up polluted with drama, as one girl has been getting really distant and difficult lately, but still wants to come. It's too late to cancel the thing, and I will feel like a very poor excuse for a human if I ask her not to come because of her drama after I invited her to it. She is my friend and I should be able to trust my friends to be adult and sensible.
Rant over.

Opie: I'm not eating those things now; I said I had eaten those things before I started changing things.
Not only that, but the hubby and I only implemented these changes a couple of weeks ago, and [healthy] weight loss takes time and dedication.
I'm not making excuses; I'm exercising the best I can right now. Perhaps when I've gotten my muscles up to speed, then I can start to run. [I don't like the idea of jogging, but running I could probably do.]

I think I did post a pic sometime back in the Picture Post forum. I don't look that different now than I did then.

Oh, it does?
You're telling me?
The one who was hot before and decided to be even hotter and healthily lose 15 pounds?
You're telling ME it takes time and dedication?
The person who eats right and exercises every day?
Just checking.
I'll repeat--get off your ass.
What you are doing is a joke. Walking 20 minutes a day WON'T DO ANYTHING.

Tam if you only have 20 min to work out then switch to weights, 20 min of walking will not work. If you can't run because of joint strain then try running on an elliptical or use a bike.

Solumina: I beg to differ; it actually seems to be working rather well. That being said, I've considered investing in some good weights, but aren't they pretty expensive?
Ophie: I never said I wanted to be "hotter". If that was my goal, then I would exploit the twins for all they are worth.

Ophie, unless you have some exercise technique ideas [other than telling me "GET OFF YOUR ASS!!"], some healthy recipes to share, or even just some encouragement to offer, then I really don't care to read your ranting.
*puts Ophie on ignore for a while. Again.*
Seriously, go for a walk or whatever it is you do to calm down.

"Way to completely miss the point, idiot." isn't a rant.

Nope, it's a blatant insult, but if you read back a bit further, you'll see that Ophie -has- been ranting.

Are you fucking kidding?
I gave you a detailed idea already.
I also even told you that your current method isn't going to work.
You claim it is, but how much weight have you lost in the past month?
You just didn't bother doing it.

THIS IS THE RANT THREAD, YOU IDIOT.
Christ.
But no, this works. Distract yourself from the fact that you're doing nothing to improve your situation despite owning a computer and having all the information you need to improve it.
Yeah, this'll work just fine.

Quoting this so that it's visible. Either Tam can read it or she puts me on ignore.
Win/win.

It really bothers me when people have ALL the information and resources they need, but don't fucking doing anything to fix themselves.
Then they go ahead and bitch about it.
Wah wah, I'm fat!
I should stop reading fashion magazines because those women make me feel bad!
No. YOU make you feel bad.

I -am- doing something. Why you keep insisting that I'm not is beyond me.

So you've never been frustrated with your appearance?

Well, they -are- a rather unrealistic image of what people are supposed to look like.

Technically, I suppose you're right, since my own self-esteem tends to get blown away by staring at these terribly skinny folks all the time.

By the way, Jilly, I can still read Ophie's posts if I want to without you quoting them.

Which I assumed you won't, because otherwise it would be stupid to put her on ignore.
In any case, the whole thing is that you say you hate your body, so Ophelia tells you to exercise, and you say [here's the operative] you are doing your best which it seems you don't.
Yeah, you can rant in the rant thread because you don't like your body and you are making your best to change that but it's still annoying to wait for changes, but AREN'T doing your best if you only are on a fucking treadmill for 20+ minutes.
I want to weigh more but I'm not actually doing anything about it. Wouldn't you consider it idiotic if I complained about this then?

You shouldn't assume things so easily Jilly. After all, I thought you were a girl when I first returned to Gnet, just based on your name.
Well, it's been fun kids, but it's my bedtime.

Because you aren't doing anything.
Walking 20 minutes a day isn't going to do anything. I know this.
If you don't believe me, read the post where Solumina said it.
Is it more true when she says it?

Sure I am.
I was, actually.
Then I did something about it.
You know, instead of just bitching on the internet.

Actually, many of them aren't.
And once again, that wasn't my point.
My point was that them looking good isn't the problem. It's you looking bad.
