New Title for Perkie Goffs

Someone thinks that being superfical has nothing to do with being Goth. Therefore, I move to have a new title provided for Perkie Goffs.

Feel free to add any possibilities for follow up poll.

"Perky Goths" are no more or less superficial than any other breed of Goth.

Voltaire called them "Candy Goths", which I think fits a bit better.

Edit: None of the names in the poll make any sense in relation to what I assume you're talking about.....

You're talking about "perky Goths", the ones that are cutesy, bouncy, and drink far too much Red Bull, correct?

Click here for visual and description.

I didn't know about the Red Bull thing, but who else obsesses over physical attractiveness more. Maybe a show is mainstream, but who cares? That's way low on the level of importance.

Almost all Goths heavily involved in the scene "obsess" over the physical. However, that doesn't mean they don't have deeper qualities.

I agree with Tam Li: many of your choice of labels/names make absolutely no sense. And why relabel someone anyway?

You really failed to clarify your point as to why anyone should be "retitled" as you would put it.

Edit: I think now that you intended to relabel the Gnet title that is Perky Goth. Is that so? Either way, your titles are still outright terrible.

Perky Goth is perfectly fine. If you want to convince people to change something, you have to first manage to convey why it should be changed, which you have failed to do. Oh, and your poll doesn't have an option for keeping perky goth or "none of the above."

It also doesn't have David Bowie, so please reboot, try again.

You people are actually trying to be rational with Catch?

No, I can just mask mockery well at times.

How would "candy goth" fit better than "perky goth?"
It's not about candy, it's about bounciness and perkiness.

Hrmm...Perhaps because they're hyped up on eating too many sweets, thus the reason why they are so bouncy and perky..?

I dunno; it just sounds better to me, but I got it from Voltaire, so...yeah.

That's still not a good enough reason, because it wouldn't ALWAYS be candy, but they would ALWAYS be perky.

Ok, well...call them whatever you like then. Honestly, it's not that big of an issue to argue over. :/

I call them "Bubblegum Goths," but that's just me. "Perky Goth" works just fine.

Catch - reinventing an entire subculture, clothes, names and all.

Catch, you aren't even capable of dressing yourself properly. You'd make a hash of getting into a body bag.

I beg to differ. It's ALWAYS about candy. Mmm.

Candy or David Bowie seem like worthwhile options. Bubble Men Goth should substitute bubblegum though. The Bubble Men or Bubble People would be more Goth. David J is a member of the Bubble Men.

Sure Perkie Goffs are Goth also; however, a lot of the blood lust and other stuff isn't really making sense.

I've decided the fore fathers of Goth culture were taking a stand against culture by tearing down social barriers. They wanted to get rid of gender roles and other social standards that separate people. The most stunning acheivement came about when pointing out how Russians and USA citizens all have families they care about. Soon after the Berlin Wall was torn down.

It bothers me when people want to make new barriers like Hippies. Hippies just wanted to make new laws for some weirdo utopia. Think like "mall goths," "fuck the mainstream," and "selling out" seem inappropriate to me, because they only make different barriers. However, I still enjoy the music and the culture, but Goth is looking less and less modern all the time.
