Fashion DIY tips and gratuitous plugs. And hair. Hair! Flow it, show it. Wait...no. That's some hippie musical. Nevermind. |

Yes, but I did not think that would happen. I'm sorry if I implied that there was a massive campaign against me, for I did not intend to put that into anyone's mind. My roommate spread untrue rumors and three out of twelve couselors thought they had to get involved.

Q's two cents:
My friend and this girl Ali were sitting together in the dining hall. I walked by, with my hair 'hawked up and Ali said to my friend, "That girl has the coolest hair." My friend related this to me later that day.
A few weeks later, my roommate and this guy Jay were having lunch together and out of the blue he asks her, "Is your roommate [me] crazy?" She said no and indignantly told me this little anecdote.

Yeah.. But then they get on the internet & look up goth porn.. So... Who really gives a rat's ass what people think?
Just be yourself. People will like you for who you are... and you're right.. Their opinions really don't matter.

This rather bulky guy walked past me today and said "people do love you, mate". I cant think of why except for the fact that i was talking to my friend quietly and had my head down slightly. I might have looked a bit depressed. Very amusing though, even if he was intending to insult me.

I always get asked if I'm in the army, because all my clothes. Lots of older ladies ask me this too. Kinda funny. When all my friends get together at a local diner or whatever, everybody gives us really weird stares and little kids run away, no joke.

"I'd like to poke you in the eye."
Was my worst comment received today.
My reply was, "I'd like to tread on your face."
He looked absolutely mortified.

Good show, I say!
I recall that when I was working the counter at the local antiques shop I occasionally donned a top hat and wore it along with my usual attire. I actually received many compliments, though one or two well-meaning customers asked if I was part of a re-enactment society or some similar group. In one case I was even likened to Abraham Lincoln!
Perhaps, though, it was because of the environment in which I worked and the particular style I evoked that I seemed less out of place that I otherwise might have.
Hmm...

Meh.
The neds in Dundee don't tend to mess wi' us.
I think it may have something to do with the fact that we wear big heavy boots and finger armour. And apparently, we look scary.
That really pisses me off. We don't try to look scary, but it scares off a lot of people because of how we dress. And people look at us like we're mad when they hear us laughing.
But I think it just comes with the territory. People are scared of us because we wear black and heavy boots and inverted pentagrams (Okay, so I don't wear inverted pentagrams. I tend to wear my Ankh a lot more, but hey)
That is fucking intolerance if you ask me.
It's the neds and the chavs that cause all the trouble, yet we're the ones who get judged.

People talked about my wearing UFO pants on a daily basis, because I was never a fan of jeans up until 3 months ago.
They never made fun of them really though... not usually.

Yes, they try. But they amuse me doing so, though generally all the remarques are half-baked and lame... were someone to come up with a truly witty thing to say badly about what I'm wearing, I'd thank them. Then again it's obviously my own choise to look like I've escaped from a circus..

The only time I can ever think of being "made fun of" was when I wore a shirt that had sparkles out to a club and all of my friends said I looked like a disco ball! I'll try to find a picture.

Nope.
Some people did back when I was 13-14ish, but looking at the way I dressed back then...I probably deserved it.
