I love that movie... though I often wonder what other kids thought when they watched Return to Oz (Dorothy in a mental asylum?! Sorry to burst your bubble, kids) but I liked it the first time I watched it, anyway. And I was about seven years old then. I could never forget that scene with the collection of heads and Nurse Wilson reminds me of Lemora from Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural.

I watched The Unborn this afternoon. I don't know, there were some freaky scenes like the dog with its head turned upside-down and the Auschwitz scenes with the kids (I always thought kids in horror movies creepy) but plot-wise, I don't think there was anything spectacular or new. And I didn't find the lead actress' acting too convincing either.

Yeah.. haha... I thought it a bit weird that Dorothy got younger though >_>
And for the last movie I watched...
...Hannah Montana: The Movie...
...Don't judge me!!! (Seriously though, my cousin's in town and I was left with the job of entertaining her and guess what she wanted to do... -_- )

I think RETURN is supposed to be a seperate story from the MGM film with Judy Garland. Perhaps a remake of one of the OZ stories.
In the commentary they say they weren't trying to make a sequel, just a different story altogether, like BATMAN BEGINS.
Anyway, I just finished watching "BEHIND THE MASK: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon".

Yeah, Return To Oz was the second book in the series and had to be a departure from the Judy Garland film since a) Dorothy was supposed to be a small child and b) in the end of the book Wizard Of Oz it isn't a dream at all. I wish they'd make movies for the entire series, at least do the Emerald City Of Oz.
I just finished watching For A Few Dollars More.

Well hot damn, I think I'll have to read the books. I had no idea it was even a series, and it not being a dream is way more BAMFtastic.
And yeah I think I'll get her to watch it next time.
Yeah the Batman Begins analogy helps it make a bit more sense, thanks for the info!

Yup, the book series is by L Frank Baum, and most of the books are still in print but I'm not sure about The Return To Oz, I can't find it anywhere. There were also several Wizard of Oz movies before the Judy Garland film, I got them on my Wizard Of Oz special edition box set ^_^ I think they were all silent.
That said I also never saw the Return To Oz movie, I keep meaning to look for it and forget it as soon as I go into the local HMV.

Yes! Finally! I was beginning to think everyone in the world disliked the film (IMDB seems to prove that)...
It really is one of my favorite favorite films.
