They perceive, or how you'd say it "percieve", you that way because that's how you come across to them. There's no point in arguing it. Just because a raging asshole trudges around a bar hitting on women, not intending to be an asshole, should people let what he's doing slide. I'm all for telling people how they act so they can realize it. Not so they can change it, because they shouldn't change who they are unless they themselves want to, but at least so they know so that when they are acting that way at least they can fully accept why people respond to them in that way, and shouldn't argue about it, because they already know that's how they act.
If that makes any sense at all... I might've lost the point in my own confusing rambles...
