I bit the bullet and actually watched the movie. However, I haven't read any of the books and don't really plan to.
The movie... Honestly, everything in the movie struck me as unnatural. From Bella's reaction to Edward, the relationships with the characters, the dynamic, the editing, the dialogue, the cinematography, everything. Honestly, they didn't even try with this movie.
There's so much to say against the movie that it would literally take a twelve page essay to fully articulate everything it failed at.
As for the idea of Twilight, it's not that bad. But it needed a better writer for sure and the movie needed a better production team.
I know the books are supposed to be really bad, but even bad books usually get a half assed attempt to a faithful movie adaption. This movie, however, was purely terrible. Don't watch it. I'll just save you the trouble.

Don't even start me on that fucking pathetic excuse for a "novel".
Since when have vampire fucking sparkled when the sunlight hit them? Eh?
Okay, I do like the odd vampire romance novel, but when I think of vampire romance, I think about the vampire controlling the human and seducing them and then when they go in the sunlight, they burst into flames!
It's a fucking disgrace to the world of vampiric novels.
Hell, the books by Anne Rice are better than the ones by Stephanie fucking Meyer.
Fucking bint.

I found Twilight to be entertaining on the same level as fashion magazines at the doctor's office. As in, I read it because its there, but feel a little stupider when I'm finished.

I went to a mall the other day and there was that Twilight shit EVERYWHERE! It was a bit annoying.

Yeah; I think they want to make it into the new "Harry Potter" or POTC or something, but I don't think it's going to fly. :/
At least, I -hope- it doesn't.

Ok, I'm curious.
Twilight or Queen of the Damned - which is the bigger piece of shit?

I took Lakita's daughter to see it and I have to agree fully. It didn't make any sense and I was bored out of my mind the whole time I was watching it. It was like watching a really bad middle school play but with worse special effects.

This like asking me to divide by 0. It's impossible to answer!
I think I hate Twilight more, but that's because Queen of the Damned was bad enough that it made me laugh a little.
Twilight was so bad that it went beyond the "So bad it's funny" point.
Anyway, I want to rant a bit.
I agree with KontanKarite, and I'd like to add that the movie was nothing special.
If you break a movie down in to the four parts that can potentially make a movie good (Plot [Shawshank Redemption], Acting [Citizen Kane], Action/Special Effects [The Matrix], and "That's a neat idea" [Jurassic Park]) then you realize Twilight has none of the basic elements.
The acting is mediocre at best, and I couldn't empathize with any of the characters at all. I felt like Bella deserved most of what she got in the movie, and I felt like Edward was a complete tool. Every girl I know, walked out of the movie wanting to date Edward. No guy I know walked out of the movie wanting to date Bella.
With movies like The Bourne Identity (really good fight scenes), the Matrix (really cool special effects), Titan A.E. (really good C.G.), and 28 Days Later (really cool blood/gore type of effects), there's no excuse not to have at least decent effects. Until a few moments ago, I forgot that Twilight even had special effects, and the fight scenes were horrid. Nobody fights like how they fought in the movie. Not even cracked out super-human vampires!
The "that's neat idea" isn't there either. A vampire romance? That's never been done before. Oh wait this seems familiar.
And... The plot... Well, it just speaks for itself.

I never saw Twilight or Queen of the Damned. I intended to go see Twilight, just to feed the hype or whatever, but then I was like, "Wait, this is Twilight....yeah, no." A couple of my friends saw it though, and they said they had to leave early, it was so bad. I did read the Twilight books, though, because I have 2 friends who wouldn't talk to me until I read Twilight, which vaguely had potential that it never lived up to.

You don't read a fashion mag, you look at it. No wonder you feel stupid.

The acting in Twilight was painfully bad and the story was very weak. The only decent vampire film I've seen in a while was "30 Days of Night".

30 Days of Night was a shitty film based on a fantastic 3 issue comic book series.
It's only redeeming quality is the guy who gels his hair with blood. 'Cause that's just bad ass.
EDIT: Then again considering the merit of most vampire films, I guess comparatively, it's pretty decent.

I'm not talking about W, Vogue, etc. I mean the old issues of Cosmo and Seventeen, but I guess now that you mention it, those fall under something like "Women's Interest." The kind of magazines that have articles about Twilight...
