Music Finally, an entire forum devoted to talking about Doktor Avalanche, the drum machine for the Sisters of Mercy. You can talk about other bands, or other members of that band, too, if you want to be UNCOOL. |

Gothabilly?
Currently, I've got Memphis Morticians and Coffin Draggers, but I'm looking for more of the stuff. Also, if there's any that sounds more like 'positive punkabilly' that would be awesome.

Yeah, they are fun! I love the way they sound, little bit country, rock, and punk....never though I'd like it, but it's working.

I love Gothabilly, though the current stuff I can't really say I'm too impressed with. I'd say the Cramps are my favorite, if they count as Gothabilly too.

Horrorpops have a great gothabilly album, "Hell Yeah". Iīve got about 10 gigs of gothabilly on my other laptop - if you like, I can see if it will let me start it (itīs got diva tendencies, and likes to shut down on me without warning) and write you a list of all the bands Iīve got there - itīll probably be enough to keep you occupied for a month or so if youīre dedicated :P
Oh, and, Iīm not sure if this is readily available, but I stumbled across a vinyl called "Monster RockīnīRoll" from Crypt Records. Itīs a collection of old horror themed rockabilly, itīs amazingly funny and has some really brilliant music on it. The artists are Leroy Bowman, A Pair of Kings, Round Robin, Tommy Roe, Joe Johnson, Tommy Holmes, Bert Convy, Cris Kevin, Mack Allen Smith, Big Bee Kornegay, The Daylighters, Jim Burgett, Jimmy Dee, John Sowell, Sharkey Todd, Tonyīs Monstrosities, Earl Patterson, Eddie Thomas, and The Duponts. Iīm not sure when this record was made, I found it in a local vinyl shop.

gaaaaah, I already know plenty of psychobilly, guys! I'm looking for a specific subgenre.
Just for the record, I hate the Horrorpops. :P
Batmobile's one of my favorite bands.

I wasn't being a dick, I was clarifying. The majority of the people who replied already know me, and know I'm (too) blunt.
BTW Minyaliel -- gimme that list. gimmegimmegimme

I seen the Horrorpops live recently. Really good show. I highly recommend seeing/listening to them.

Rockabilly is for rednecks and gothic rock is just bad music, so I can't imagine putting them together is a good idea.

Hehehe... ok. Well, I donīt have the time to sort the gothabilly from the other related genres (I keep them together due to sometimes playing sets with punk, rockabilly, gothabilly and psychobilly exclusively at regular theme nights down at the pub), so youīll just have to see for yourself. This is pretty much mindless listing.
Cramps
Deadbolt
Deadcats
Death Valley Surfers
Defectors
Demented Are Go!
Diabolical Masquerade
Dragstrip 77
Eight Ball Grifter
Fireballs
Flametrick Subs
Flatliners
Frantic Flintstones
Gene Vincent
Ghastly Ones
Guana Batz
Hank Williams III
Hellbillys
Hellhounds
Horrorpops
Johnny Burnette Trio
Klingonz
Krewmen
Lee Rocker
Long Tall Texans
Los Gatos Locos
Lovesteaks
Mad Sin
Meteors
Necromantix
Os Catalepticos
Paladins
Peacocks
Phantom Rockers
Photon Torpedoes
Polecats
Quakes
Skitzo
Social Distortion
Southern Culture On The Skids
Supersuckers
Tiger Army
... now that I look this list over, I mustīve misplaced (or lost? Eeeek!) more than half of my collection... *panic*
