Soulless ones
I don't believe all humans are born with souls. I think some people are just empty inside, never had or never will have a soul. Do you think this is possible, that there are only so many souls available?

Depends on what your definition of "soul" is

Actually, you know what? My knee hurts too much and I can't even think straight. Forget about it.

It's possible. All living things either have souls or they do not.
Spirit, however, is fairly evident in all things.

I believe that there is only one soul, and that it belongs to the planet. I'm not saying that the planet has a soul in the way living things have souls, but that it's a form of energy that is bound, possibly generated in part (iffy on that one), by the planet. Every time a new life-form is created, it attracts a small amount of the energy, giving it a soul of its own. As the life-form grows, it adds to the energy, and when it dies, the energy returns to the actual main soul.
Don't ask how I came about this belief, it's an idea that formed in childhood that never got shaken loose. Incidentally, I realized a number of years ago that this would explain why those people who claim to "remember" past lives virtually always remember only parts of past lives.

This is fairly much like part of the plot in Final Fantasy 7, actually. But it's an interresting thought, really. And the way you put it, it doesn't sound unrealistic at all, but I honestly don't know what I believe. I don't know why I am, I just am. That is all I will need to know.

What is a soul? I don't really know how to accurately define it. But I sometimes get a strong feeling when talking to someone, like this person is empty inside, like there is something important missing. Not good, not evil, just not there.

Why do you feel the need to speak of people in such bullshit terms as good and evil?

Because they apply so well, whether you personally like the terms or not. However, that is not what this thread is about is it? Try to stay on topic.

Maybe they just have no personality.

No, I don't think that's it. Some have been very personable, say all the right things, etc. When I first started noticing it, I thought of them as cartoonish characters, having no real depth, two dimensional. As I observed them I noticed they never really seemed to "connect" with others. But there was more to it than just being shallow persons. Like I said, something important missing.
Maybe you've encounter someone like that?

If they apply so well why can you only apply them to your stupid question about souls?
That's circular logic.

Somehow I doubt that. Feeling apart from and not wanting to be part of the rest of the human race doesn't completely qualify one, at least I hope not. Do you feel pain when children suffer, get pissed off when others don't seem to care?

I bore you, or I'm way above you?
Seriously:
Do you think some people don't have souls?
That's stupid
But some are not good or evil
Good and evil are bullshit
But the terms work because they have no souls
You talk like a creationist

What is a soul? Your personality? Your sense of being? Your collection of memories that shape who you are? A genre of music?
What's good and what's evil is entirely dictated by society and one's own personal beliefs.
That's what I think anyway.
