Every goth teenager I meet these days wants to major in English, Psychology or Art, when I am going to meet a goth tradesman or a goth footballer?

I'm going to be a biology major, if it's any consolation.

I know one who's a carpenter, well... knew.
My grandpa, he loved bauhaus most. But I think that's mostly due to his studying at the Bauhaus in Europe.

My grandpa loved the music. He loved Bauhaus most. But I think that's mostly due to his studying at The Bauhaus in Germany. The name of their band was the main reason he gave it a listen. And he liked it so it sort of opened him up to the genre, he was a big fan of the Cure and Fields of the Nephilim and some others I'm sure, we never really talked about goth music all that often, so I don't really know all that he liked, I just know he absolutely loved Bauhaus.
And I say knew, because he died a couple years back. Good life he had though, according to him.

We're all crazy? It seems like just about everyone who is a psych major has, or at least thinks they have, a psychological condition and to some people that is endlessly fascinating.
Anyway about nearly all goths being English, psych, or art majors, well those are three of the ten most popular majors (psych being the most popular, at least in my state). I do happen to know a goth welder and a handful of goth chaps who work at the ship yard (though I'm not exactly sure what they do there).

Languages and Social Sciences major here.
Although I've been known to work on a dump truck and do other menial labour from time to time.

I used to want to take psychology for college then I changed my mind sort of at the end of the last months of high school because I didn't want to have to talk to people (I was thinking that I'd most likely end up working as a counselor or some such thing : p). I know some goth computer and civil engineers and some who took up medicine-oriented courses.

Yeah psychology was a fallback major because I didn't want to live paycheck to paycheck as a journalist, and I suck with deadlines.
