Summer shoes
I can't seem to find any summer shoes that are comfortable and I actually like - everywhere I look it's flip-flops which are useless and gladiator sandals which I despise. I have one pair of sandals that I like, but the heel is pretty high so they're not practical for my agenda this summer (school, which means tons of walking to/from bus and around campus), especially since I spent all winter wearing my Docs and have lost a significant portion of my epic high heel skillz.
Any suggestions? What kind of shoes do you guys typically wear in the summertime? I don't even know what I'm looking for, I need some ideas.

Creepers are nice, but I fear them since the Demonia pair I bought practically exploded on the second day I wore them. I wear Converse year round. I have a wonderful pair of patent flats with zipper detailing by a company called Rocket Dog, too.
But...I secretly hate wearing shoes in the summer. I can't stand gladiator sandals either. They look so uncomfortable.

I have a pair that runs up to mid-calf. I don't find them uncomfortable at all. They're flat and look complicated at first glance because of all the buckles in the front- people endlessly remark about how long it must have taken me to get them on and I don't mention that they actually have a zipper behind them.

I usually wear my boots during Summer, and they are not extraordinarily uncomfortable in warm weather. These shoes might be more appropriate for everyday wear, though:

I wear my boots all year round, unless I'm at the beach, in the tropics, or it's just really fucking hot, in which case my black, studded thongs ('flip flops', not a fucking g-string. Though black, studded g-strings are probably just as common) come in handy.

Get a pair of black patent dolly/ballet shoes. Light and comfortable and a lot cooler than wearing heavy boots all summer.

When the weather is warm, and the styles are skimpy, more attention than ever will be paid to the shoes you're wearing. For sandals, thongs and flip-flops, this guide to summer shoes will help you find the latest styles, hottest trends, and top picks in summer shoes.

To be fair I have as well, but I think it's more of a case of most stores having up to 6s in stock when I'm a size 7/8 XD

Mine is a case of being very fussy with details. I seem to always find something wrong with a button here or a ribbon there or the material, etc. But when I do find something I like, it's usually 'love at first sight'. I'd know that I want it at first glance and, almost always, end up buying it.

In the summer I am generally barefoot or in strappy stilettos

Black ballet flats are my #1 choice for summer when it's too hot and sticky to wear boots. Mary Janes that have a small heel or platform are great too...flip flops are alright but they can't have that cheap rubber/plastic strap that always irratates my toes by the end of the day!

Not to mention that thongs (flip-flops) also provide very little support for your feet. I think that they should only be worn at the beach or at the pool.

I do have a sloppy-comfy pair of Chucks and a pair of soft-sole leather mocs, but I wear those in winter, for the most part.

i hope you got those Docs a while ago - they're really shit now - fall apart in about 6 months. thank you china.
yes, gladiator shoes ARE disgusting - especially on anything more than tall toothpick legs. but whatever shoe you wear really depends on what you wear with them (and sometimes what legs you have)
personally, i'd just go with flip flops (they work with skirts and any style pants) - you don't have to go black and studded (depending on your look) i got a platformed black pair from teva with a tribal/something else design on the straps that look nice - you could definitely buy some trim to add the the straps (i dunno what else they're called) to match them more to your look.

Tevas are great.. I need to get a pair soon, cause I'm going kayaking next month and don't wanna wear my chucks.

i know - it's like walking on pillows - get the platform ones (they're not too high) they're just as easy to walk in as the normal ones

I have two pairs of footwear and I wear them regardless of season: A pair of red and black New Balance sneakers and a pair of black leather work boots.

Boots, it really doesn't matter what season it is. I don't care if it's hot out and I'm wearing black I can barely feel heat anyway.

Converse or flats. I hate sandals with a passion because my feet are ugly. I don't mind going barefoot though.
