X-Men Origins and some questions...
Okay... I just seen the movie and it was pretty damned good.
But. I don't get Sabertooth at all. In this movie, he was pretty much a beefier version of Wolverine with claws coming out of his fingers, which is all good and fine.
How did he go from some furry, mostly human looking guy to the anthropomorphic tiger man of the first movie?

Joking, probably an effect of the mutant genes in his body, to accomodate his abilities.

Really? I heard this was a terribly bad movie, and one of the biggest complaints I heard was the lack of continuity with the other movies, it doesn't seem to be a total "reboot", but a lot of things just don't fit.
I just can't go see it, I'm too much of a Gambit and Rogue fangirl.

Well, it wasn't bad. No worse than the other X-Men movies to be quite plain.
It was good. Not The Dark Knight good, but at least X-Men good.
Gambit... he wasn't bad and Deadpool wasn't either for the short moments they were in it.

Gambit's character was dead on. They fucked up Deadpool 9 kinds of bad though.
Sabretooth was fine... so what if he lets his hair grow out over the course of a decade...?
The movie wasn't amazing. It wasn't as bad as X-Men Last stand, but it wasn't great. It was supposed to tell the story of wolverine's origins. And it did it's just well.
"Lack of continuity" What were the people you talked to smoking? O_o
1 - It's not supposed to be continuous with the other 3 movies and
2 - I see nothing people could have an issue with as far as continuity.
True it's continuity with the comics is a bit off.. but the first 3 x-men movies' continuity with the comics was far worse.

Oh yeah. To compare Deadpool from the movie to the comic Deadpool would be a fallacy. I wouldn't even go there. But the Deadpool in the movie WAS indeed funny as a character who was just some wisecracking guy that used swords.

Yeah, well the 1st viewing of him when he was still Wade Wilson was dead on. It would've been perfect if they would've kept his mouth open, didn't give him optic blasts, didn't give him adamantium knuckle katanas, didn't give him wraith's BAMFing ability, and if he wasn't Stryker's son... >_>
Oh yeah... spoiler... (little late, woops)

You know, come to think of it, I didn't even understand why Deadpool was in the movie to begin with. He's not a mutant, as far as I know.
As for everything else, the movie WAS good as a movie.

Apparently there's lots of little things, like there's a body, the camera angle changes, the camera angle goes back, and then there's no body left, and Wolverine is dead momentarily, but you see his throat move, but yeah, apparently no one told anyone here that it was a reboot :P
Apparently they're doing another one called "First Class" (I thought they were going to do a Magneto Origins too?) and it'll show all the original X-men together, so Iceman won't be a fucking teenager if they ever do redo the series altogether. Hooray!

Hey me to!! I love those two.
Anyways, I think people's biggest complaint that it felt to rush, the CGI could have used a bit of work.
The beginning and the end of the film were were awesome.
It didn't bother me that sabertooth wasn't as hairy since it was all in the past. People change over time. It just shows that he became more of an animal.
Other than wolverine, there wasn't much an attatchment to the characters.
The movie wasn't the greatest in the world but it was really good eye candy.

I'm not that into X-men but Gambit has been my favorite ever since I first saw him- and I was about 7 or 8 then. Anyway, Gambit was pretty much the reason why I decided to watch this movie and, overall, I think the film was entertaining enough.

I liked the Cartoons from the nineties. Gambit is much better with a Cajun accent hurling explosive cards.

The changes in sabertooth aren't that unbelievable, you can always grow hair or muscle given enough time. He'd especially adapt quickly to environmental conditions and the first movie did show him trecking through snow. Also maybe if you spend enough time about Magneto his magnetic fields stimulate your genes or something?
I'm more interested in the huge shift in their relationship. Origins left much to the imagination of what happened in the movie universe between its end and the beginning of X1.

You're obviously not big on the earlier comics at least...
Deadpool becomes a mutant when he's given Wolverine's regenerative ability to cure his cancer. That also gives him dexterity, strength, and agility, due to his consistently new cells all the time, just like wolverine. But before that he was a mercenary/assassin.
And him being in the movie was quite correct, that's when he becomes deadpool. They just went about his character the wrong way...
Tyciol there's still like a 10 year gap between Origins and X-men..

This was one of my many issues with this movie. I thought it didn't fit in well with the rest of the movies, and mostly had zilch to do with the comics. -_-;;;
The game was better.

Weapon X program.
Am I right in thinking they have his mouth sewn up in the film?
"The merc with the mouth"?
Wut?

Actually it was pretty damn close, and if you thought it didn't fit well you're off your rocker, do you not remember Wolverine's amnesia and shit, this is like a ginormous flashback... srsly... how do you people complain about continuity when they're just straight up giving it to you out the arse..
Malice They have it sewn up for a split second then the mouth is just gone and it's skin.. it's dumb as fuck because that obliterates damn near all his personality. Hopefully his self titled movie will correct the character
Kontan You should. Then you can criticize the fuck out of all these movies you've been watching :P hehe
I'm just pissed 'cause I love deadpool... apart from him the movie for the most part was about as close to the comics as the other 3....
Seriously, how do you fuck up wolverine's origin story... it's in the weapon x comics.... on a silver platter, there's no room for error if they just do some god damn research.

Besides all the other things wrong with the movie, did anyone ask how the movie Deadpool could bend his arms with 2 kitanas going down the length of them inside? I can't imagine how he could bend his arms without having to extend the blades.
