Korinna and PoS-that could possibly be it. I thought Dial was alright for piercings, but maybe that's what's doing it. I'll try the saltwater soak.

PS-Ophie, I was thinking about the nipple thing but I was worried if I ever took it out the scarring would make it less sensitive. They look awesome if you've got nice boobs.

I've always wanted just one.
It's a fun piercing. It's silly and ridiculous and no one has to know but me.

Oddly, it didn't hurt AT ALL. I hate it when people say tattoos and piercings don't hurt, because yes they do, but it really...didn't.
Even when she put the jewelry in, and even now. No pain.

Also, I didn't get it to show it off, really, just for my own amusement.

This should be the official piercing thread.
If not we should make an official piercing thread.

Also I should be getting my nose done.
Or tongue.
Not sure yet.

Malice, just be prepared for lots of swelling if you get the tongue.

I just got a new nose bone for my nostril, but I still need to order a segment ring.

Worst for me was getting my industrial and two cartilage piercings on the other side all at the same time...
Nipple piercings sucked too. I was wearing underarmor for several days so that they wouldn't move around.

I found that industrials never quite heal completely and the nipple piercings keep getting ripped internally for a few months.

If you use Ibuprofen the swelling goes down pretty well cuz its an anti-inflammatory.

Not necessarily true.
A lot of piercings are susceptible to ripping which makes them take long to heal. Also some piercings have annoying swelling which makes them a pain to get. Like a tongue piercing you can do everything right and it will still be a bitch to eat solid food for a couple days. I had a friend who's piercer hit the vein in the tongue and she bled all over the place which would be a bad experience with piercings.

..we're talking about HEALING piercings.. you know, infections, idiotic people touching their piercing with grubby hands..

Gnet should have an intelligence test for membership..

Yea I'd consider that a piercing that is refusing to heal because it keeps getting ripped would be a btich of a healing experience. As far as infections go I've never had one with any of my 9 piercings (Two in the left lobe, Lip, Tongue, Industrial on the left, Two in the cartilage on the right, both nipples)(10 holes cuz of the industrial) and two of them were done with a safety pin in gym class and I didn't use anything to clean them. (my first two in the ears not a place that gets infected easily though). The only ones that kept getting ripped and took a long time to heal were the industrial and the nipple piercings.

Stabby, if you're female, did your nipples hurt?
Mine were bizarrely free of pain.

I see.
How long did it take to heal?

Mine seem oddly fine.

They were better after a few days. I kept bumping into them and they got played with so they ripped a little bit, so then they had to re-heal. It just kept happening and then I decided to reduce my number of piercings to just my favorite one. So, I ended up with just my lip piercing left. I really wish I hadn't then... It's like when I chopped my hair off I found out I missed them much more than I imagined.

I got a trigus piercing almost an entire year ago. It was ok for about a week, then it kept hurting and gradually formed what I thought was a keloid but it was screwed together too tight for me to remove. I went to a tattoo parlour to get it removed and they squeezed all kinds of pus and blood out of it. The guy asked me where I got it done, I told him, and he was not surprised lol. If you live in Fayette County, PA, don't go to Big Daddy's because it's not owned by the same people it used to be, and it smells like a pet shop.

Also, I did a nape piercing myself when I was 16 or so. It was loooovely until it started rejecting, and now I have a giant scar on the back of my neck.

Why?
People should have the right to hurt themselves.

All.

Have had my ear pierced multiple times and my lip pierced once. I had to accept the fact that my body just won't accept having a whole in it after the lip piercing. Went back to where I had it done to get a new ring and the dude had to pretty much repierce it after having the ring out for a couple minutes while he got the new one ready.

True, but I think the reasoning behind the IQ statement was that they end up coming in to the parlors and asking stupid questions about why it's infected. I assume it's bothersome to the piercer?

I'm getting my nose done tomorrow, it'll be my first piercing since I was four. My friend is paying for it as a birthday gift, so there's no chickening out of it this time >.< Now I'm more worried about me being stupid and it getting infected.

I have a friend that's all pierced up. Says nose piercing is one of the least painful. Just a little more painful than having your ear pierced. Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, thanks. I can't remember exactly what getting my ears pierces was like, and it was done by a gun, whereas my nose I'll be getting it done with a needle. I remember crying for hours after getting my ears pierced, but I was a drama queen when it came to pain as a kid, while needles still make me nervous I don't cry or get sick anymore when I see one XD I watched a couple of videos on youtube of it being done, it seems like its done pretty quick so I'm not afraid of the pain. I'm just afraid its going to get infected or be purple and swollen for weeks.

I know not to touch it at all unless I'm cleaning it, and what to clean it with, but I'm just nervous anyway that its going to swell and pus, my ears are sensitive and thats what happens now if I put in anything in them (I haven't worn earrings in a very long time though, I had no problem when I wore them regularly).

Ear piercing didn't hurt at all for me. Just felt some pressure and then it felt all warm for a while. As for for swelling, take some ibuprofen about an hour before having it done and then follow the directions on the bottle, maybe a little less for a day or so. The piercer should give you some care instructions to take with you to avoid infections and keep it healing good.

As for your ears. You said you hadn't put anything in them for a while so I'm assuming there's a high probability that these are not the same earrings? Could be that the earrings are a material your body doesn't like. Try some surgical steel. Not only is there a slim chance of your body having issues with it, surgical steel is sexy as hell.
