One dog I had - a cairn terrier - was called 'Kimalla Lady", or Kim for short. But mostly we called her 'Alien'. Big on the overbite.

I kept my little baby's name simple, Brandy. She was a short legged beagle. She passed on a few months back, so it was hard to handle for a while. She was better than half the people I know and meet.

Actually, only one pet has impacted my entire life. Sadie. When I was a kid she would protect me and let me sleep on her as if I was a homeless child and her an underpass. She was warm, smart, protective and athletic.
This, however, led her to her fate.
At the time we lived on a farm in Illinois in the middle of nowhere with a long gravel road leading to the "main" road to the nearest town 10 miles away.
She ran down that road one day and was struck by a car. How, i'll never know. All I remember is her wrapped in a white sheet and my dad shooing me away from the garden as if it was a war zone.
She was buryed and that was the earliest and saddest cry I have ever cried. Worse than my cousin dying of AIDS, worse than my Great-grandmother losing to Alzhymers, and worse than the parting of first love.
Now i'm crying, damnit...
I need to go back there some day, to that garden and say goodbye again.

I had a puppy two months ago, I called it Bijoux. Although, you may want to choose a name that has " S" in it since dogs have sensitive ears so it would be easier to pick up.

Ya, it was a retriever. I bought it while it was two months old! It was the cutest thing ever!

All of my pets had strange names. My family are just into strange names. I have a strange name. Anyways pet-name-wise I used to have a cat called Genghis Khan, an African land snail named El Passo & my pet dog is called Gertrude.

We used to breed cats, and somehow I managed to ruin it for everybody by coming up with names for the animals we kept.
The boys (two neutered, no longer with us and one un-neutered and still alive) were called Gubbins, Billy Bones and Bastard.
As for the girls: Bitch, her daughter/niece/granddaughter (Bastard escaped once) Squish...
Sadly after that the rest of my folks decided they'd name the animals.
