There's a lot accompanying my derision and judgment.

That's taking it too far. Not Catch. Never.
Besides, I merely posted my opinion on what I thought he looked like.
... alright I can be an asshole sometimes. Gonna have to deal with it.

No one on here has to "deal" with anything you do, they won't just sit there patiently hoping you mature out of this "gother-than-thou" attitude and trying to use your personality as a scapegoat to get you out of the messes you make***. They're just gonna make fun of you and criticise you even more, so now is the time to just be quiet and step away.
***eg. Girl: "I just got kicked out of the Library for being too loud! I've always been loud, so if that pisses the people in the Library off then they can fuck off or deal with it, I have a right to be who I am!"

You make an excellent point.
However, I, like basically every other human being on this planet, can be an asshole. You have to live with that every day.
I'm not sure how expressing that I think a certain person looks stupid means that I think I'm a poster-boy for goth.
This is the part where I back down right?

You can say he looks like an ass and then you're being rude but we will shrug it off, the problem is that you said he doesn't belong here because he doesn't look goth enough. Can you not tell the difference?

Yeah, I actually regret posting the "why are you even here?" bit.
You basically owned me straight out with your comment.

Well just think about it, some kid walks up with a Manson shirt, Tripp pants and long dyed black hair saying "let's listen to slipknot because they're goth", it would kind of ruin the moment, wouldn't it?
Besides, we need things to talk about. Without this thread we wouldn't have an argument about how I'm an idiot for near 2 pages! It was entertaining enough, no?
I have this strange feeling I'm gonna get flamed for this. I have no idea why.

That bit is an understandable problem because what they are saying isn't true and proves a lack of knowledge about the subculture

This really would cause no problems for me whatsoever, give people a chance to show you who they are before you make some snap judgment, given half a chance people will surprise you.

That's why I inserted the Slipknot statement into that little bit.

I guess I had that one coming, eh? :P
I really do not care what or who ruins the scene, though :) I just thought we needed to spice things up in here :P

And besides, I'm pretty damn sure most if not all people here have purchased Tripp pants one point in their lives and dyed his or her hair black.
Seeing as how I'm going to college to be a English teacher, I'm just preparing myself to witness all of this over again. It doesn't discourage much, but I just happen to roll my eyes and become amused.
Ah, growing up is a lovely thing. Until you get damn wrinkles.

Hey, I still dye my hair black and dress in all-black :P
Doesn't mean I don't know my roots though :)

Yes but you still included the physical description and in fact gave it more prominence in your post than the Slipknot is goth bit. I'm not saying that you're a complete prat but you do seem to really be focused on judging peoples' worth based on how well their fashion choices fit with your idea of what is goth and that is just silly.

Needlefeet - this is where I suggest you suck up these corrections to your pool of information, stop judging people's "gothness" based on looks and pretend it never happened :P

Not me, though I did somehow end up owning two pairs, I want to say that I inherited them from friends but I'm not terribly sure, they sure as hell are not worth their price tag but those fuckers were comfy. Also I would look terrible with pure black hair, though a blue black wouldn't be too bad, red is just far more flattering and fun.

I have actually considered smacking some purple dye on top of my now fading black and see what happens :P

Aw come on, Tripp pants aren't that bad. Don't have to pretend to not of owned/bought them!
And yes, red hair is fun. But then it washes out too quickly and that's never too fun. :/

Wow, I go away and get dressed and there's like 10 fucking posts. Haha.
I dye my hair black just because I prefer it to my natural (a really ratty blonde). I've never owned a single pair of Tripp pants or anything of the sort. However, I wanted them so I'm guilty too.
Gah gotta go!

Oh they aren't bad, in fact they are rather comfortable and don't look to bad on me, they are just way overpriced.

I haven't really had that issue but that may be due to how fast my hair grows and the fact that I hate having visible roots, since the roots show up so quickly my hair has already been re-died before it fades.
