It's not called "hungering oneself". If you'd read my post, you'd see that I was saying exactly the opposite: you can eat ANYTHING you want until 4 p.m. and after a very short while you won't even feel the need to eat after that hour.

For some people it is the sensation of chewing that sets them off so start with liquids, move up to things like apple sauce, mashed potatoes, and yogurt, then start to reincorporate solid foods.

chewing?? i don't think its the chewing that sets me off. Rather i think its like the sensation of having the food inside of me knowing that somehow i may not deserve food that i am intaking ...

Well in that case keep your portions super small and just try to eat really frequently, that way you wont be entirely full so hopefully you wont feel the compulsion to vomit but you will still be able to get the nutrients that your body needs.

Right, an update. I've lost 2 stone so far (28lbs) apparantly people can tell ( I can't on the body but I can see I've lost a chin ) . I no longer jog as 4 days a week I walk the 3 and a half miles home from work at a fast pace. Plus I have an aerobics class on Mondays and plan to swim on Saturdays. I showed my friend my stomach ( a rare thing! ) and she was terribly impressed. I do have some definition beneath the fat after 6 weeks of going there. She came with me to the class toinight in fact!
Our other friend is getting married in 8 months and I don't want to ruin her photos with my lardiness. I know trying to lose all 6 stone in that time is an impossible goal so I'll aim for 3-4 stone ( which should hopefully make me look semi normal in size and shape ) and get rid of the rest after that.

My best friend's been podgy all her life, and she still got more guys than the rest of us XD
One little bit of advice from me would be to do exercise in the morning, just after waking up. That should speed up your metabolism so calories burn faster during the day. Oh, and don't be afraid of moving. Throw out your remote control and get up and WALK UP TO THE TV
Cutting down portions is fine, as long as it's not overly drastic. I've been doing that recently because i've realised exactly how much food I eat although I'm not hungry. As long as you don't develop anorexia.
DON'T crash diet. My mother's friend only got fatter, and on top of that it doesn't burn fat, it burns muscle.
Oh, and remember, in the end getting thinner is great and all, but we're all loved as we are already, so don't let it get you down if your efforts don't go quite as planned.

PLEASE STOP! I can say, with 100% infallibility, that you are beautiful and perfect in all ways, apart from THIS ONE THING, your stupid desire to be thinner. SERIOUSLY, CUT IT OUT. You don't NEED to be anything other than what you already are. STOP IT, GOD DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've also been overweight all my life. Difference is I've had bricks thrown at me because of it. Not to mention countless complete strangers ( all male ) over he years who have been more than delighted to tell me how hideous my fat looks . That many people cannot be wrong.
And I've always hated the way I am so I'm changing it now. I walk over 12 miles a week, do an aerobics class and I've got swimming to do! *flops* very tiring haha!

Duckman...Welcome to the frustrating world of being a girl. Daily we do the most frustrating things, over and over, all because of our desire to be beautiful...We don't see that we already are...We try to be better, to be the hottest girl...
There's just too much pressure, as you can see...The reason we quite literally torture ourselves over the way we look is so we can be attractive to the male population...But will they ever know?
Honey, I'm sorry that'd have to happen to you. Believe me, the majority of the people are here, on this website, and we all say you're BEAUTIFUL. :')

Fair enough. I just get annoyed because girls have to shave in more places than guys.
By the way, red heads are sexy. Don't get why they get discriminated against. :/

Speak for yourself, the things I do for my appearance are done for me and no one else. I don't exercise to have the perfect body, I exercise to be strong and healthy. I know my body isn't perfect but I know I'm still pretty damn sexy, it isn't about looking better for other people, it is about being happy with yourself.

Oh course she is beautiful, just look at those eyes, they are absolutely captivating, but that doesn't mean that she can't better herself. The fact that she has been so steady and responsible with her weight loss is quite admirable, she seems to be feeling much better about herself, and she will most likely end up being a lot healthier. I doubt that she has any desire to be a skinny little stick and I think that doing so would be a very large mistake, but there is a nice happy range of being fit that she seems to be doing a great job of working her way towards.

Its the problem with gender roles. Society is still pretty sexist (and its not just women, like Duckman said, it hurts everybody), in that we still have prescribed gender roles, but I think it helps if everyone thinks about it and make the personal political. For example, I recently thought about why I shave and found it pretty much was only because I thought men would find me disgusting if I didn't. I don't think thats a good reason so I quit. Lots of other girls just love to shave, though. I don't mean to get off the topic of weight but the same goes, bigger people who are perfectly healthy are shamed into trying to lose weight. Lots of people trying to combat that too.
