Wow.
You know, I might actually retaliate if your comment wasn't practically dripping in sarcasm and had some logic behind it.
But, because you are being a sarcastic toad and have virtually no logic behind that comment, I am not going to.

How is it that everyone gets owned with 3 word comebacks?

No, I did not.
If you saw me mentioning my depression as an invitation to comment on it, then you were sorely mistaken. I was trying to make a point. You should pick them up more often.

You mention your depression in a thread that is not about you, therefore you invite comment on said mental state. You are making yourself a target. Your only point was 'wah wah I've tried killing myself but I failed so I know how people feel when they want to die'.
My point was clear though. I dont care about attention whores like you. There are people who need real help and aren't needily seeking attention on the net.

When people are suicidal, they don't think logically. They don't think like that because they truly believe that those people would be better off without them. All they can think about is the pain they're in, the pain that doesn't go away no matter what they do. They're tired of fighting it.
They only see one escape- eternal peace. Ending their lives, ending their pain.
The way I see it, what is the point in forcing someone to stay if they truly are in a lot of pain? What's the point in prolonging their life if they're hurting inside?
If they've already tried fighting the pain in other ways by talking about it, and it doesn't help, where's the sense in preventing them from acheiving the one thing they truly want?
One can only fight for so long. One can only try for so long before giving up.
More than often, fighting depression is like fighting a losing battle.

That was not the point at all. You said that suicide is not selfish, but it is.
Whether or not the suicidal people can see that was not the point at all.
And yes, I do understand self-harm and suicide. I have been there at one point too. What kept me from suicide, though, is said perfectly by Shakespeare. "That undiscovered country from whose bourn, no traveller returns, puzzles the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have, than fly to others we know not of. Thus conciense doth make cowards of us all."
The fear of what was beyond.
And that period in my life, seeing how I hurt people around me, just proves to me that suicide is, in fact, selfish.

When have I ever complained about my life?
Where did I ask for attention? I don't need attention, for I am not depressed. When I am, I don't go crying to people on forums about it. I talk to my Dad about it, because he actually listens and understands what I'm going through.
And I did need real help. I'm one fo the few who got real help and lived to talk about it. I got over my depression, and my point was that a lot of people don't get over their depression and it's those people who often end up killing themselves.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a large amount of homework to finish with my name on it.
I bid you fairwell.

Isn't depression like... an illness?
Feeling depressed is just another way of saying you feel like complete shit, not just sad or upset.
That's my understanding...

Depression is a mental illness, yes. As far as I have been able to gather, the body stops producing some chemical or something, and that results in depression.

It's not a disease, it's a syndrome.
My problem with this shit is everyone and their God damn goldfish apparently has it. It's deemed "Cool" for some retarded reason or other by some, and people are "Diagnosed" because they are a little bit upset sometimes. Instead of dealing with the problem, throw drugs at it. I think you'll find there's an underlying problem for the vast majority of people who THINK they have it because they want to be special.
These days, you're not normal unless you're abnormal.

Attention seeking. Happy now? I fed your need for someone you dont know, to acknowledge your sad existence.

If you are on meds for your depression, you are certainly not over your depression.

"Depression" is being tossed way too much here. People aren't even "sad" anymore, it's just "oh-so depression."
Depression is so 90s.

I'm sick of certain things being bandied about, and this is one of them. Coming from a dude who's actually been diagnosed as bipolar for years, it fucks me off when mother fuckers go on about how depressed and blahdy blah blah they are. I get through life on minimal medication, despite the fact that I find it near impossible to function in real life. I don't throw drugs at my problems (Not any more any ways). I don't go on and on about how shit my life is, despite the fact that I have gone through some fucking rough shit in my time. One or two people here know exactly how fucked up my shit is, and I don't make a point of letting everyone know, because A) it's no fucking business of anyone and B) I'm not a fucking leech like 99% of the dipshits that post in this section.
Some people feel a little down, and decide they have a clinical syndrome. You can easily tell who is full of shit because they call it a disease. Any Doctor who calls that sort of shit a disease is a hack and I wouldn't believe a God damn thing they said. Look at it statistically. Around 10% of people under the age of 18 have actually been diagnosed. It seems like all of those people apparently post here. What, you're so depressed you become Super Duper Goffix? Fuck off, cunts, you're pathetic. Get the fuck over yourselves. If I can get on with my life, with minimal meds, and all the shit I have going on that I won't go into, then you're fucking milking your pretend "Disease" for attention. Go jerk off or flick the bean. It's not my fault you're ugly and annoying, I don't want to hear about you and your problems, you're an angsty teenage loser going through puberty, your hormones are all fucked up and you feel like you do because you're confused, not depressed, and you're attention seeking because you want to fit in and think that's what people here want to hear. Up yours, go swing, kill yourselves, you sad, Nanny shagging, pathetic, attention seeking, bullshit spewing little fuck nuts. You'll never get laid whit that attitude.
