I said I was lazy. Then you got me interested with a questionnaire.

I love to procrastinate and am too lazy to make an introductory thread...or so I thought, until Saya introduced me to the wonder that is the questionnaire.

(I love filling these pointless things out.)

1. What do you do? (Hobbies, job)
I swordfight, sing, draw, ice-skate, play guitar, piano and flute, watch aniome and read manga. And attend a super-strict school against my will.

2. Where are you from?
Russia...But I guess England's my home...

3. Who is your favorite author?
Um. I really don't know. I'm not that into reading, apart from random poetry on the net and anime fanfiction. I'd like to read some more classic gothic novels though.

4. What are your favorite films?
Generally I like sad love films like A Walk to Remember, Titanic, etc,

But

Brokeback Mountain is my all-time favourite.

5. What music do you want played at your wedding?
A song I wrote.

6. At your funeral?
Haha, I know this one for sure
Rock Lobster (Family Guy).

7. This IS a gothic website, so... how do you want to die?
It might seem common but I really want to jump out of a plane and fly.

8. What kind of casket would you want?
One with engraved song lyrics, poetry and life-changing quotes.

9. What's your FAVORITE outfit?
I adore lacy gothic-****** dresses!

10. What's one thing you miss about being a little kid?
Not caring what people thought of me.

11. What's your favorite band?
Too many to name, and too various. Right now I'm listening to a Russian band called Flёur. They have some of the most amazingly haunting tracks. (I remember watching an elfen lied amv to the song Formalin...that stuck in my mind for ages).

I like the obvious choices too, such as Evanescence and Within Temptation, classics like The Cure and Scarlet's Remains, and hardcore metal and rock too...I'll listen to anything that has a sad/haunting melody, though.

12. What kind of education do you have? What is/was/will be your major?
Just boring ol' school. But I want to go into something medical. Maybe something alternative too, like acupunture or herbalism.

13. Why did you join?
I wanted to comment on one of gothicusmaximus's posts...but after I registered I lost the thread...that is the fate of many lurkers.

14. If the first 13 questions didn't give it away. What is your gender?
Female. *points at avatar* That doesn't look like a man, right? Right XD????

You seem nice enough but there is one little thing that bothered me:

What makes you think that these are obvious choices?

As in, they have been popularised more than other bands I could mention, for example Faun or Blackmore's Night. I don't think I worded that quite right.

They're also pretty reviled around here, but welcome anyway.

Eh, fair enough. New place, new people. Thanks

Fave anime...errr....I'll make a list ^^; I've seen a lot, you see. (no real order):

1.D.gray-man
2.Elfen Lied
3.Ranma 1/2
4.Rurouni Kenshin
5.Kieli (It's only manga, but It has to be one of the best)
6.Death Note
7.XXXHOLiC
8.Naruto (I'd say up until episode 91 or so)
9.Fullmetal Alchemist (My first anime as well )
10.Jigoku Shoujo (Hell Girl Ai)

Ah, so many more...I can't even begin to remember...And I didn't list the most well-known ones, either (excluding Naruto)...

Anime is a wide, wide topic for me. Mention any anime and I'll have at least heard of it.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni I'm also watching it at the moment. Kinda stuck in a rut with anime, I've been reading manga more often because it's faster, but when I get round to it, I'll do my best to finish it.

But they explain why later! Episode 21 of Higurashi was BRUTAL. Elfen Lied didn't bother me but that did. I'm done the first season, the second one explains better why time keeps resetting but I need to calm my nerves with comedy, so I'm watching Ouran HSHC (which is a silly anime but I'm pretty sure its mocking shojo and harem anime) and Azumanga Daioh (which has one of the best openings ever XD)

Yeah, Higurashi is a bit of a slow starter...But it gets so dramatic and fast-paced...>w< I want to watch it now.

Ouran HSHC...Well, I watched it some time ago, but Hikaru and Kaoru have got to be some of the most adorable (in their own weird, twincest way) bishounen I've seen.

"Eat your cake, Hunni!"

That was a lovely lighthearted anime Got rather plotful by the end, they say there's gonna be a second season.

Azumanga Daioh bored me.

Even though I really dislike all those Evanescence/Within Temptation/whatsoever bands I'm happy to see that you listen to Flёur!
Yelena Voynarovskaya's voice is really enchanting; to be honest - my nickname comes from her song.

But I believe that both Olga Pulatova and Yelena Voynarovskaya are from Ukraine, not Russia.

Awww, I love that kind of comedy, not as good as Lucky Star but I just love the dialogue so much.

Have you ever seen Mononoke (not the princess) or Mushishi?

Yeah, I'm aware about the Evanescence and Within Temptation hating thing. That's why I try not to advertise it.

I just got all of fleur's albums from my friend in St Petersburg It made me very happy ^_^

About the russian Ukrainian thing - While they are Ukrainian, their songs are in Russian.

My favorite songs are:

Маленькие Феи - Malenkie Fei (Small Faeries)
Синие Тени - Sinie Teni (Blue Shadows)
Печальный Клоун - Pechalniy Kloun (Sad Clown)
Формалин - Formalin
Я зделаю это - Ya Zdelayu Eto (I will do it)
Кто-то - Kto-to (Someone)
Будь моим Смыслом - Bud Moim Smislom (Be my Reason)
Тёплые Коты - Teplie Koti (Warm Cats)
Сердце - Serdtse (Heart)
Небо хочет упасть - Nebo Hochet Upast (The Sky Wants to Fall)

So if you can get your hands on any Flёur, I'd really recommend the above All their songs are amazing though. Good luck with finding any ^^

Saya: No, I haven't, although I've been meaning to watch Mushishi for a while now...
By the way, if you like Ouran, I'd suggest Hayate no Gotoku if you haven't seen it yet. I love it ^____^

Welcome to the boards madam! May I suggest that you watch Special A? It is somewhat like Ouran High School Host Club.

Welcome hope you like it here. Always glad to hear about another anime watcher. Rurouni Kenshin is one of my favorites as well. FMA is also pretty awesome but the end was a total WTF moment for me. Still good but I was like huh? Don't know if you know but they are making another FMA anime. Haven't watched it though. Oh, and Geoluhread, Darker than Black has got to be one of my favs of all time.
