How does this sound? For breakfast eggs with a slice of wheat toast and a glass of water, then a ham sandwich with swiss cheese and a bit of mayo for lunch, and then a salad with a side of pork with a glass of water for dinner... would that work, or would I be eating too much meat?

It sounds fine, but I don't know about the portions you're talking about.

Sounds pretty good. Maybe you should substitute the ham with turkey and remove the yolks from the eggs. I was wondering the same thing as Miss Underwater Ophelia about the portions as well.

Well, I got the diet covered and my workout covered... is there something I could take/eat that's good for promoting a happier mood?

You may want to go with more lean meats and fish but that sounds like a decent meal plan for one day, as long as the portions aren't too big.

As for snacks I try to keep some nuts on hand as they are high in protein and good fats but low in cholesterol (almonds are my personal favorites), I usually keep them in a container with some dried fruit and granola clusters, kind of like trail mix, only less salt than most trail mixes. Then again I may not be the best person to give you advice on specific foods as I am not trying to limit my caloric intake as I don't want to lose weight, I just try to make sure that my sources of calories are healthy ones.

Something that I do to start a new dietary plan is a quick apple fast, you can eat as much as you want but you can only have apples and water for two days. You can fix the apples any way that you want, you can't add anything to them (I became a fan of slicing then cooking them in a grill pan). It is just a bit of a ritual that help to solidify that from here on out things are going to be different, and if you can stick to apples and water for two days then cutting little things out of your diet wont seem like such a big deal.

Dark chocolate is great for you mood, as long as you are going for a really dark chocolate it wont hurt your diet.

Try foreign cuisine. For example, most Asian cuisines are very healthy and delicious.

I have also heard that blueberries are great for your mood as are omegas (egg whites are a great source as are many types of fish) and B vitamins which can be found in whole wheat and leafy greens.

Okay... so upper body workouts Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, lower body workouts Tuesday Thursday and Saturday. What should I do on Sundays? I know I should rest, but maybe walk a couple of miles, and shoot hoops for half an hour?

Going for a long walk can be a nice, low impact way to burn a few era calories and work your muscles a bit on your day off.

Unless you make it yourself, if you do then go for it.

Is Beef Jerky a good snack, cause over here at the store we have these Jerky Sticks that are only 60 calories, I mean one a day, of course.

Yes. I also heard that the Jack Link's brand is 97% fat-free. I am not sure about the brand you posses, though.

Store bought jerky is bad due to the levels of salt and chemicals but if you make it at home it can be a rather nutritious snack.

Decided not to eat healthy but to eat in small portions.

I made this decision based on my feelings towards omitting the chili dogs from my weekly menu plan.

I was unaware Isa knew about or even agreed with the notion of reduced fat cooking. That's why I love her food. This book should be wonderful.

It is heartening to note that a majority of the active members on this forum do not post in this thread.

Offends? What gives you that idea?

I just think it's cool that either;

a) Most people are not fat.
b) Most people don't give a fuck.

Haha.

Either is fine by me.

But this thread has evolved into essentially just helping each other to live somewhat healthier lives, not to simply drop some pounds, wanting to live a healthy life is a pretty positive thing in my book.
