I am surprised to see this thread empty, so let me be the first to say welcome! =)
You seem serious and devoted, and you seem to be a nice person, so I hope you enjoy your stay =) And we won't really stalk you or make fun of you. Unless you manage to seriously believe you are a bloodsucking vampire from Hell or call Marilyn Manson a goth band ;)

But I thought all goth bands made loud sometimes pompus metal to get a reaction from people?:o

Incorrect. I despise metal with a passion. Had a stint with it in my younger years and completely eradicated it from my life. What are you listening to that you think is goth?
Furthermore, what do you listen to? You haven't said in your post. What are some books that you've read that you liked, instead of saying "too many to count"?
I'm trying to fill in the blanks here.

I was being sarcastic about the metal thing. I know that not all goth bands are like that. While I don't claim to be an authority on "goth" music, I guess the classics like Siousie & the Banchees, The Cure, Bauhaus & Depeche Mode would be considered goth even if they've denied it. I've gotten a few box sets to help expand my knowlege of what different bands are out there & that's what I'm listening to atm but I also listen to a lot of alternative & indie. I've posted a few in the "what are some of your fave non goth bands?" thread in the music section. Also, the reason I put too many to count is because I tend to be very schitzo when it comes to books so I've got several I'm reading bits of @ the same time but here's a sampling of some that I've got:
the sookie stackhouse series by charlaine harris
the vampire chronicles by anne rice
the harry potter series by jk rowling
several historical fiction novels from the tudor to victorian eras
dracula by bram stoker & some offshoot novels
alice in wonderland/thru the looking glass by lewis carrol
I'm also fond of vc andrews

The bands you listed are goth.
The only metal band I can think of to be called goth would be NFD.
Other than that, could you possibly maybe type a bit better and lose the annoying font/colours?
Welcome.

I do not understand why everyone keeps calling them "The Sookie Stackhouse Series".. It's "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" I read the first few books while waiting for the rest of the Harry Potter books to come out. Ever since they turned it into a show everyone's calling them the Sookie Stackhouse Stories, so I keep thinking their reading a spinoff of the tv show, it's just slightly confusing.

I do quite like True Blood though. It's like the same universe as the books, but they go about doing things a bit differently, so even as a reader of the series the tv show can still surprise you.

And I'm not sure if you somehow just got into all this stuff at the same time, but your list of books your currently in the middle of seems a bit loaded... no offense.

Are you just into fiction or do your literary interests go beyond that? (just curious)

Thanks for the welcome!

Type better? Er, ok, I'll do my best. I guess people also call it the Sookie Stackhouse series because it's easier to say or remember. Plus it also isn't called True Blood like the show, so maybe it's a way to diferentiate between the two. I'm on book 4 atm. Yes, I know I have way too many books going on at the same time. I've got to tame the beast before it fries me more than it already has lol. But I did say I was schitzo w/books-I tend to grab any new one that seems interesting & adds to a collection I've already got. Oh, yes, I also have quite a few non fiction books so, yeah I guess you could say it does go beyond fiction.
