Nice, Kingston is a pretty damn good University. Do you know if they still do those funny end of year pranks?

I don't know, but I'll probably find out on the 14th when I meet some of their people.

Well that kind of depends on the instant coffee, some of it is utter crap, some of it is rather yummy though.

Some text messages made my day.
My grandmother bought me a new car over my protests and will be driving it down tomorrow.

Can I borrow your grandmother?
Okay, what made my day: Three things. One, I was on the way to work and stopped at the post office. Started to buy something from the vendor as I was running late, and he gave it to me -- free. Because it's Veteran's Day. That's not what made my day, however. He was an ex-Marine and he actually THANKED me for being an ex-Army Medic. That only happens once in a lifetime (Marines and Army have a rivalry that goes WAAY back).
I got to work, knowing that my boss was on the warpath, and feeling bummed about having to work on Veteran's Day when I'm a Vet. Then, someone told me my boss took the day off. I thought, "Of all the nerve..." since she isn't a Vet, but then they reminded me that she would be gone all day. Yay!! Veteran's Day started looking up after all.
Then, I got one of those reports that reminds me that one of the reasons I still I do my job (besides the paycheck), is just because of some of the amazingly weird things people do to themselves. (In this case it was a patient who decided the fastest way to 'get religion' was to swallow a cross. Ouch).

I fixed it for you.
Also I'm glad that your day didn't suck, though it does suck that as a vet you had to work on a day dedicated to veterans. Did you at least get holiday pay?
Remembering that I had hot coco mix totally made my day, nothing is better than curling up with a nice mug of coco when then weather is cold, windy, and wet.

Thanks. ;> I so wish, but it only counts as a holiday here if you work for the government, which I don't. Considering the weather is the same here, hot cocoa sounds like a plan.

I was in a small fashion show yesterday and all the compliments made my week. I feel pretty good about my body right now XD Also when I was getting my make up done the lady doing it said I had the longest eyelashes she's ever seen, then asked if they were real o.O She even went and got all the other make up artists to come look at them.
You guys got shitty weather too eh? We had our first snow stick to the ground today, it snowed before but melted soon after, this seems to be it. We're loving the heaters and electric blankets right now.

This news story, widely reported on Veteran's day, made my day
Milwaukee, WI: Muggers See Army ID, Return Wallet
Would-be Robber Gives Soldier Fist Bump, Thanks Him For Service
Kyle Windorski, a 21-year-old college student in the Army Reserve, was walking home Tuesday morning on the east side of Milwaukee when four men with stocking caps over their faces forced him into an alley at gunpoint and demanded cash ... The muggers then turned their attention to Mr. Windorski’s various identification cards: a driver’s license, a University of Wisconsin student card and a military ID.
“We’ve got to give this stuff back,” the ringleader snapped. “This guy’s military!”
Anyway, it doesn't mean much, but after the recent tragedy at Fort Hood, it's nice that someone's military service got them a break.

Well, it's not a NEW new car, it's a new USED car but that's hardly the point. The problem will be giving up the car I have. I am extremely sentimentally attached to it.
