It was a great film at the time. And the tragic nature of Brandons death made baby goth Jesus cry for at least an hour. It's really too bad it was destroyed by marketing and many bad sequals that I never wasted time watching.

But then again... your also a jack ass.
There's already a thread for this.
....and there's also the fact that He died Because of a the Lee Family Curse (Daddy Bruce died of a brain hemmorage on the set of Enter the Dragon)
Which ultimately transfered onto the crow franchise.... look into it... there's a death/ Serious injury in every film and tv series..

I have never seen the movie, but for some reason, it brings to mind a TV show, about some man living in an attic? Am I mistaking the movie for a TV show, or are these two different subjects?

The Crow was a Comic Book.
Then it was adapted to be a movie with Brandon lee.
Then it was a less than Quality Sequal (Still viewable, but it was pushing it)
then it was a TV series. *Horrible*
Then two more movies after that..... Both supposedly Horrid.
new issues of the comics are still being published.

I saw The Crow this August, I think. I absolutely loved it. So much that I hunted down the other two Crow movies, too. The Crow was great but come on... Making two sequels with the EXACT SAME STORYLINE as the original (plus cheese) is just too fucking lame. For crying out loud, give this whole marketing bullshit a break.

Ok, then. How about?
Aliens.
Ghostbusters II.
Scream 2.
Evil Dead II (technically a remake, but the closing credits say Evil Dead II, the Sequel to the Ultimate Experience in Grueling Terror)
Batman II (arguably not as good as the first batman movie, but not bad by any stretch, either)
Police Story II (the Jackie Chan movie -- greatly superior to the original)
Toy Story 2.
Silence of the Lambs.
X-men 2. (I say it's better than the first)
From Russia With Love. (Dr. No is still good, but From Russia is better.)
A Shot in the Dark.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. ( Khaaaaaaan!)
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. (see Batman 2 above.)
Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.
Desperado.
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
Kill Bill, vol. 2
Ocean's Twelve. (see Batman 2 as well)
The Devil's Rejects.
Ringu 2. (better than Ringu, not as good as Ringu 0)
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.
Terminator II: Judgement Day.
Even if you discount one or even two of them, that's a lot of exceptions. I'm not saying there aren't a lot of bad sequels, there are. The thing is, there are a lot of bad movies out there. I don't see a proportion of bad sequels.
I do think that sequels are the lazy option out for hollywood: it's easier to concentrate on things you know people want, than risk something new that people won't try no matter how cool it is.
But it's outright lazy to say that in general, sequels are bad. They aren't.

Heh. Ok.
It'll keep you from the Speed 2s of the world, I guess.

Gnet is not a dating service!
And The Crow is one of the best dark movies.... and The crow has nothing to do with vampires so, you can't relate the two.
Introduce yourself on the correct damn thread.
Then, read Newbies thread.
Then, capitolize.

Can't really use that as an example for precisely the reasons that were listed in,

*heh* Great work secretboy. I was trying to think of some before I saw your post with the list on it; you came up with more than I could. I watched Terminator II (for the thousanth time) last week and decided then and there that I could no longer say that every sequel is worse than the original. But I'm with Xng on the fact that I'm not going to see every sequel til I hear good things.

"Silence of the Lambs", the book, was a sequel to the book "Red Dragon" - which was made into Manhunter. I consider it a sequel. Also, they remade Red Dragon and you can buy the trilogy of movies as a DVD collection.

Disfunction's right. It's extremely unlucky to talk about urban legends that way.

Very good. The best of the four movies made of the three books. I highly recommend it.

I never watched the sequels. Like all the Jaws sequels they looked really hokey <philly slang for corny>. PS Captain Quint is my hero. He made me want to be a fisherman 'till I was 18.

Am I too late for the jello wrestling?
I just thought I'd post a quick RIP for Bruce and Brandon Lee. I am a Bruce Lee fan myself and have many of his movies.

I know I sound like a dumb little baby goth, but I heart the Crow like woah... and that rhymes. My World History teacher is so cool... we totally bitched at the whole class for thinking the Crow is just a movie
And the girl with the skateboard is just like one of my friends... druggy parents, but a wonderful person. Too bad there aren't any cool cops or Erics and Shelleys for her... shit, reality can suck. Sorry >.<
