Portland police officer accidentally sprayed burning man with pepper spray
A Portland police officer accidentally used pepper spray instead of a fire extinguisher on a man who lit himself on fire downtown near a fur store Wednesday.
The guy set fire to HIMSELF so even though he died it's still funny to me.

Reminds me of this one scene from the muppet show's muppet labs where Beaker was trying to put out a fire from an unsuccessful fireproof paper test with a fire hose, only to discover the recently invented flamable water.

Wait ... the guy was mentally ill, suicidal, and set himself on fire to kill himself?
He may or may not have asked himself, "What is the most painful way I can kill myself?"
I was thinking that if he was masochistic the joke would be that the officer helped him amp up the pain beyond what he could have imagined. But he was mentally ill, so it's all just sad.
It's so clearly an accident, and the officer wanted to help. I hope she doesn't wrack herself with guilt over this, and I hope nobody thinks the officer ought to be sued. It's just a tragedy.

Well unfortunately if you read the comments under the article, you'll find a nice list of people who are angry at the cop.
