Maybe, I've always liked more underground metal, and obscure stuff too. But I don't like that fact that a lot of kids getting into "death metal" are basing the genre of one not so great band. They think that Dethklok is the only type of metal out there.

Gallhammer, Burning My Abigail, Rigor Mortis (Russia), Carcinogen, Noothgrush and finish it off with Nuklear Frost.

I have never seen a whole episode, in factm I thought the music was overrated until I heard it at a friends, without the show, and realized that if anything, the show detracts from the quality of the music, but all in all I think it is a good combination.

I don't think I've ever listened to anything by Dethklok. When it comes to metal I prefer symphonic metal myself.

If you've never seen an entire episode, then how can you say it detracts from anything?? Something tells me you're taking Dethklok and metal in general WAAAY too seriously.

Go to Adultswim.com RIGHT NOW and watch some of the show. [The whole point of the music is to emphasize the TV series, not the other way around.]

I think you are the one taking things too seriously. I'm not even a hardcore fan, I just like them and felt like posting a thread.

I enjoy the music for the musics sake, not the music for the shows sake. I plan on watching the show when I have time, though.

Dude, Atilla is easily one of the top 5 most incredible metal vocalists of all time. His stuff with Sunn O))) is breathtaking, as is his Mayhem stuff. Have you heard Domkirke, the live Sunn O))) album from the cathedral? It's amazing.

The Dethklok concert I went to was probably one of the most hilarious shows I've ever had the pleasure of attending, right up there with GWAR and Green Jelly. Not to mention, Metalocalypse is my shit.

Good stuff, I've caught a few songs off Domkirke, but I'm a bigger fan of the studio stuff. Everything they've done is awesome, can't pick a favorite. When I saw them this last summer, it was the greatest show I've ever been to. Mindshattering, and I couldn't hear for about a week!
